chapter 1 Jr high finals

Today was the day Jr finals. Rozu chi Jr high had made it. This was the last year for Max Nozomu, and Gavyn Hatsudenjo. They had finely made it to finals. They had spent the past three years trying to make this happen and they had. Their opponent was kitigawa first. They had a reputation for winning bit Rozu chi was not about to lose. They had the first serve max looked back to see their server and then to the rest of the team. He could see that they where nervous he couldent let his team play like this "we got this!" He called "we made it this far there's no reason we can't do it again!" After saying this the team had a change of attitude. They knew max when he talked like this he wasn't just trying to tell his team they could win he was trying to convince himself that he could win. The serve was great it went to far right back where only one person could get to it. But they did they received it flew to the setter who passed the ball to the spiker who spiked it. Max jumped to the ball to block it but he couldn't get thair in time. They knew it would be hard to beat kitigawa but the dident expect it to be that hard. Gavyn couldn't let them get the point " every play counts!" He yelled Gavyn was the libaro if he couldn't save the ball then he dident deserve to be called the red demon. The Red Demon was the name he had been given because of his inhumane ability to save almost any ball and the red and gold Jerseys of Rozu chi. He dove for the ball stretching his arm out the ball hit the ground just in front of his fingers. As the game continued the first set went to kitigawa. It was now match point for kitigawa in the second set. They served the ball Rozu chi revived but it flew over the net "chance ball"gavyn yelled "sorry" sead the boy who made the recive. "Its ok don't beat your self up about it" max called. Kitigawa spiked the ball down straight to gavyn if they got the point they would win. Gavyn couldn't let that happen he had come to far to lose. He dove and reached his had out as far as he could the ball hit his hand. Gavyn's face went pale "it's to low" he thought. He watched as the ball poped up a bit and the amidietly fell to the ground. The ref blew the final whistle kitigawa had one. Max looked down at his freind and team mate. He wasn't mad, he wasn't in shock. He was just sitting there max had known gavyn his whole life but he had never seen his freind like this however he knew what was going on. This was the one emotion he had never seen it was anger. As gavyn lied on the floor "how how could I let that happen?" Gavyn was lost in his head. Latter that day in the locker rooms the boys where talking about high schools. "Hey max you and Gavyn are going to Karasuno RIGHT?" "Ya I am at least" max replied everyone stared at Gavyn " hu oh ya I am" he sounded strange this wasent his normal energetic tone it was quit and sounded like he was going to cry. The guys frome kitigawa first came into the locker room. "Hey boys look it's loser chi" a tall brown haired boy was leading them. Gavyn who was just trying to leave accidentally bumped into the boy. "Hey shortie watch where your going!" The boy snapped his tone was brash. "This kid giving you trouble Conner?" Another boy came to his side. "Hey I know you your the liebaro who let the team down." Who did this boy think he was max thought . Gavyn finally spoke " picking on someone's hight just shows weakness." Conner was infuriated by this he picked up gavyn by the caller of his shirt and threw him up against a locker. Gavyn winced in pain. "Who do you think you are kid!" "Stop!" max yelled as he ran toward them to free his freind. As he tride to pry Conner off who was a bit taller than max was but much stronger the rest of the team joined in and freed gavyn. Later that day on the bus max had sat next gavyn he still was quiet "Hey gavyn what was that back there?" He was worried for his freind. "He was right" gavyns tone was soft."what!?" Max was confused. "That Conner kid he was right " his voice now picking up." What good is a leibaro that can't keep the ball in the air."his voice was now full of intent "I won't let it happen again!"
