chapter 3 champions practice

It was a gloomy day, the rain poured, the wind blew, and the sky was a dark shade of grey. Gavyn was staring out the class window. He had lost track of time and had stopped paying attention" he was stuck in his own head. "Why? Why?" "Why couldn't I be there" he was thinking back to the Jr high finals about how they had lost how it was all his fault, then he thought about Conner he clenched his fist "ugh! Why dose he make me so angry? I could care less about what happened in Jr high." It was because of something Gavyn knew deep inside it was because he was better than him and he hated that, he could not understand that someone existed who actually could not be beat. THUD Gavyn felt a sharp pain in the back of his head. He turned around to see max standing in the door way, he also noticed a math book at his foot.

"What the hell!" His voice full of anger.

Max sighed a responded in his normal strait to the point and kinda dull tone.

"Hurry up mopey were going to be late."

Gavyn looked at the clock. How had he missed the bell class had ended 10 minutes ago he was alone in the class even the teacher had left. He got up and quickly rushed to catch up with Max.

"You didn't have to do that you know" he rubbed what he could feel was a small bump forming on the back of his head

"I know but this was more fun at least for me it was." Max chuckled.

The two walked to the gym, they ended up arriving on time wich Max was thankful for. Coach walked in, all the boys lined up. He eyed them all. They have so much potential but they don't have the team work. He had built a practice based of the practice game putting the boys in positions they normally wouldn't use. Gavyn was told to work on his spikes. Randi was told to work on sets so the two would be working together. It was a mess every time Gavyn would be set up for a good spike Randi would flop the set, and every time Randi would get a good set Gavyn would flop. He lost count of how many times he had apologized. Coach had been walking around observing the team, when he got to the two he pulled Gavyn aside. "Kid your trying to hard" Gavyn was confused. Coach sighed " your trying to take in all the information at once just focus on the ball and where you want it to go." Gavyn went back to Randi he set the ball Gavyn jumped for it focus on the ball. The whole gym was gathering. Gavyn slamed the ball it hit right where he had wanted it to. "All right practice is out!" Coach walked out the boys where in awe they still had an hour coach peered back in "Well hurry up!"
