Glistening strips of varnish emulating coils
Faded curves of rainbow streak across the rosewood
Sticky blobs of glue oozing along the edges
Coloured grout fills the cracks in between mustard stains
Glitter loses sparkle each time I look anew
I crumple up the pieces; stow away the mess...
