LAZULI"Lucifer! You devil, come back here!"
No, I should run away. Damn these feet! Oh fuck I should run faster.
"Lucifer! The police are catching up! Hindi na tayo makakaabot dahil paniguradong naharangan na nila ang labasan!"
Oh fuck no, no!
A bright flash of blue and red lit up the dark alley. The sirens of police cars are getting closer.
"Aaaah! Lucifer, tulong!"
I looked to the side as I heard Fratianne scream in pain. He's lying on the cold lane, his right leg hit by a bullet. No, hindi, ako nalang mag-isa!
"I order you to stop! Kneel down and put your hands behind or else we'll kill your companion!"
I was supposed to stop. But these damn feet would'nt. The voices in my head are back. The keep on murmuring one thing.
Keep running Lucifer, save yourself.
"LUCIFEEEER!"
"NOOOOO!"
Oh, thank God. Thank God that was just a nightmare.
All I can feel are cold beads of sweat trailing down from my forehead to my wet pajamas.
I heaved a deep breath as I made my way to the sink of this cozy room I rented for a night.
I always have that dream, no, nightmare. I always have that nightmare everytime I forget to pray before I drift to sleep. It's haunting me, it was like it's purpose was to remind me that I need to have a conversation with God.Hindi ko kilala si Lucifer. Even the scene was never familiar to me.
Bumalik na ako sa kama pagkatapos kong uminom ng tubig. It's 3 am, everyone believed this time as the devil's hour. But we Christians do not.
"All the glory honor and thanksgiving, I lift them up to you oh Heavenly Father-"
I was almost done praying when the door was loudly opened, and a woman stood in front of me. In her red velvet dress and seducing scarlet eyes, she was like a beautiful...devil.
"Amen" I said as I tried to look away. Masyadong manipis ang suot niya, isang pagkakasala ang maaari kong magawa, the devil is testing me to turn away from God.
She chuckled. "What? Am I your answered prayers for you to say 'Amen'?"
"W-what is your name? What do you want from me?" Her presence is too overwhelming.
Again, she chuckled seductively. "Hmm, is that necessary?"
Isinara niya ang pinto at naupo sa lamesa na katabi lamang ng aking kama. Her sitting position is exposing her thighs and.. up there.
In Jesus' name, I rebuke all the works of devil in this room, in Jesus' name.
"Magdalena at your service, Primo" she smiled as she reached out her hand to me.
Magdalena...
The only Magdalene I know was a sinner, but she converted and followed Jesus. I wonder if this Magdalene is a sinner too.
"Please sit down properly, Magdalene,"
Napapansin ko na talagang mahilig siyang tumawa. Dahil ginawa na naman niya ito bago siya maupo. Ngayon ay magkaharap na kami.
As I stared at her scarlet eyes, it was like a strong force is pulling me closer. My gaze lowered down to her lips. It's as red as her eyes and I suddenly want to claim it.
A smile crept up her lips as I try to reach out for her face.
Ngunit bago pa matuloy iyon, may inilabas siya. It was a foil thing. "I bought in case you forgot, don't worry I won't include it in the payment," she smiled.
That foil thing...
Payment...
Oh God, don't tell me she's a-
But before I do something wrong, I suddenly remembered my purpose here in this place.
If I am here to initiate change and serve my purpose, I might as well start it on this woman.
"Listen, Magdalene. I am Lazuli Monteverde, a pastor in training. I can help you with your problems. It's never too late if you will just return to Him again-"
I was startled when she chuckled bago pa ako matapos magsalita. This woman.. really likes laughing. I bet she lives life happily and freely.
"Hmm, this is a dangerous place, Lazuli, and you're just a lost pup. Lock your doors Primo, I might enter the wrong room again," and with that, she seductively stood up and made her way towards the door.
"Til' we meet again, Primo,"
She left me with a mysterious smile on her face.
