After one of my clients left, I closed my door and leaned against it. I was getting tired of all the people coming in here, expecting me to use magic to solve their problems. Imean, yes, thats what my job was..... But it was exhausting! I glanced at the clock and saw that it was nearly six. Alec should be home soon. So, at least I had that too look forward to. I smiled to myself and went into the kitchen to start preparing dinner. How hard could cooking be?

Alec's POV

I walked into the apartment almost an hour late. The room was filled with smoke, and Chairman was running around in circles in the living room. I sprinted into the kitchen and saw Magnus chanting things at a fire that had started on the stove. I quickly grabbed a pitcher of water and poured it over the fire.

"Magnus, what in the world is going on!?" I asked, seriously freaking out. He shrugged and gestured to the food on thestove, thatlooked somewhat like dried out beef jerkey.

"I was going to surprise you with some grilled cheese sandwitches, darling!" He said with a boasting grin before glaring at the stove. "But the cookery had a few problems with that. I suppose we will just be eating out again. Not that I really have a problem with it.... I just...." He shrugged once more and smiled brightly at me. I sighed and shook my head at him.

"What am I going to do with you, Bane?" I asked him quietly. He grabbed my hand and pulled me outside excitedly.

"Lets go! I know a great place we can go to eat. Oh! You will just love it, Alexander!" He said before starting to rant about random subjects. I started to wonder what had gotten into him. I liked seeing him so happy and hyper, but it just wasn't like him to be like this. I considered the possibility that some spell went wrong and intoxicated him or something, but decided to go along with it. Magnus was Magnus, and I loved him for that.

Smiling to myself, I found myself enjoying the conversations we were having as we walked hand in hand down countless streets. They were happy and light, and it was great to just talk for once. It didn't happen very often, since I was training and usually hunting. So it was a nice load off. I just worried that my dad would appear somwhere and ruin it.

After a while, we ended up in a small resteraunt I had never seen before. The lights were dim, and the music was soft. I was nearly unaware of the other people as Magnus started telling me about his day.
