A Dangerous but Fun Idea

"Let's play the Ouija board!"

Those words right there made me question how low my friend of four years IQ is. Normally, I would expect her to do at least three stupid things a day, but today had been different. She hadn't done one idiotic thing, and for other people, it might seem a good thing. But for Camilla Loyola, it meant that she was about to something ridiculous, and I wasn't wrong. She was about to something crazy but this time, fucking dangerous too.

I took a small breath, briefly closing my eyes for a few seconds before looking at her smiling face with excitement shining in her eyes.

"Why, Camilla, Why?" She gave me a weird look before speaking again,

"Rebecca's birthday is coming up, and it's almost Halloween!! Come on that your cousin; you know that" Our friend, Rebecca, seventeenth birthday is coming up right on the day before Halloween. We have all been too excited about her birthday; we had made plans to stay at Camilla's apartment. The goal was just to lodge out, play Devil May Cry, eat birthday cake and ice cream, and then just sleep. Nothing big.

I didn't even raise my voice at Camilla. I just shook my head and stayed silent because I know that Rebecca would flip in mine and her stead, so I didn't say much. Rebecca hated the damn thing, and everybody knew it. I roll my eyes leaning farther back into my chair, raising my drink to my lips taking a sip. Hot coffee-flavored pumpkin spice flooding my taste buds in a more than satisfying way, making me feel warm in this store that the owners made extra cold by putting the air conditioning on high.

I lowered the coffee back on the table before staring at her with curious how she was even going to talk to Rebecca about this; Camilla broke a piece off of the chocolate chip cookie set in front of her on the table before popping it in her mouth. I waited for Camilla to finish chewing her food before voicing my question.

"You do know you are going to get cussed out by Rebecca, right?"

Camilla swallowed and asked, "What about you? Do you want to do it?" Even though she completely ignored my question and instead asked me one, I stopped my protest to consider her question. How do I feel about this?

Turning my eyes to look out of the cafe's window, I let the question sit on my mind for a few moments. Playing with demons didn't seem fun at all, but it wasn't like I was doing it by myself. Telling Rebecca about this wouldn't be fun either, but again, it wasn't like it wasn't me telling her; Camilla was. "Honestly, I don't care. You're telling Rebecca, I'm not."

A smile of success grew on Camilla's face as she broke another piece off her cookie and quickly put it in her mouth. Chewing and swallowing her cookie with more speed than she did last time she spoke, "You won't regret this, Amelia."

I replied with an uninterested hum lifting my coffee back to my lips, taking another sip making me warm once again. I put the coffee back on the table and snuggled into my jacket, feeling the cold air coming from the air conditioner. Why the hell do they have the air conditioner when it's almost winter.

Deciding to distract myself from the bothersome cold, I drew Camilla's attention, "Do you have one?"

Camilla turned her eyes away from the wall and looked at me with confusion, "What are you talking about?"

"Ouija board. Do you have an Ouija board?" Camilla gave me a smug smile, and then I had a bad feeling,

"Yes, I do. I brought one a few weeks ago." I continued to stare at her and opened my mouth to speak, but she cut me off, "I already played it a few times by myself, and I have been speaking to this spirit and Camilla, I think this spirit likes me! The spirit was nice, and it called me pretty! It even gave me its address!" I stared at her and listened to her talk about the damn spirit. Right there and then, I had thought that made me question her IQ and our friendship for the second time today,

She is undoubtedly going to get us killed, all three of us killed.
