Something that Crypto didn't expect.

When the season first started, there were no new places, just the regular buildings by their names, and the fallen Repulsor tower. But when the face of daredevil Octavio Silva appeared on some posters, not even Crypto could guess what would happen.

The Gauntlet had appeared in the following days, boasting multiple jumppads and a ring of fire. Since this place was new for all the Legends, even Octane himself, most without common sense hotdropped the site. This left Crypto with enough time to scope out the area, find terminals to hack, and finally begin his big plan.

And then Labs had appeared.

Now, Labs was a hot spot after it got cleaned up too, but when Crypto heard that it had valuable information? He had to find something.

When he first tried hacking into it from an undisclosed location in Kings Canyon, he failed during the second round of the games, and had it broadcasted all throughout the arena. The announcer glitched, and so did the banners all throughout the canyon. So much for being subtle.

Crypto decided it was time to see for himself what was in there. From a couple of pipes at Swamps, he was able to find his way to the Labs, and into a small, one way entrance room. There, he found information on Wraith; how she turned into the Interdimentional Skirmisher, her name and age, and how long she worked for the IMC. He decided to put it out for her, when she would eventually land here again.

Crypto also found a window in that same room that looked into a much wider one, with a kickable door. In hindsight, being there when the games started wasn't ideal.

Crypto was typing away on a terminal, trying to find information on this place called World's Edge; where it was rumored Season 3 would start. Since the Leviathons wouldn't be moving out soon, they had to find a way to keep the games going while also keeping the Legends alive for the audience.

As he was typing, he heard the announcer's voice go off, signalling the start of today's game. As Labs had been out for a while, Crypto has seen that it wasn't as active, and the select few that do land here don't tend to kick down the door as much, so he kept typing, trying to hack into the mainframe. His drone hung out beside him, fluttering.

What he didn't hear, though, were the sounds of footsteps rapidly approaching, and a door being kicked down. His drone turned and made a high pitched beep, signalling that Crypto was in danger. As he turned around, he made eye contact with multiple Legends. He franticly ended his hack, and bolted out the door, his drone tailing behind.

The good news was, was that he didn't know who the Legends were. Maybe they were randoms from the streets, wanting to prove themselves, and will ultimately fail in doing so. Or they were faculty. Whoever they were, they saw him, and he needed to get away. He had what he needed, anyway.

He escaped back to the pipe in Swamps, and was able to avoid the Ring by slim chance, and went back to main land Solace.

Now, it was time to apply to be a Legend.
