Chapter 10
Declan
Declan smirked as the girl leaned against him, shaking with laughter. However, the smirk didn't last long when he saw who they were meeting. Miriam squealed as she saw her friend and lept away from Declan and into Jamie's arms.
"Oh my gosh! I missed you so much!" Miriam and Jamie squealed in unision.
"No! I missed you more!" They said together again.
Declan's focus went past the girls and to a smiling Thatcher.
What. The. Hell.
His teeth grit behind his lips as he assessed his friend's appearance. Thatcher's face was slightly... flushed? Since when did Thatcher get flustered? One of Thatcher's hands rested gently by his side while the other was shoved into his jean's left pocket. Okay, that's.. normal.. ish. He normally has both hands in his pocket but, whatever. It doesn't always have to be the same. Stop being paranoid, you have nothing to be paranoid about, you're just being stupid.
"OH MY GOD JAMIE YOU ARE SO BEAUTIFUL!" Miriam yelled as they seperated, giving Jamie a once over. Declan couldn't help but do the same. She was wearing light denim shorts with slight rips that showed off her long, naturally tan legs. Damn... Miriam grabbed his attention again as she squealed for the billionth time and wrapped her arms around Jamie, spinning them around. They stopped twirling so that Declan had a clear view of Miriam's face resting on Jamie's shoulder, and all of Jamie's backside.
Oh, even more damn...
A hand clapped down onto Declan's shoulder, startling him for just a moment. "Hey, Thatch." He said without turning to look at who it was.
"Hey, Deccy boy." Thatcher's smirk was evident by the playful tone in his voice. Declan turned to look at his friend, a question burning the tip of his tongue.
"Why-" He started.
"Oh my god, Thatcher, are you and Jamie dating?" Miriam blabbed at the same time the cashier said, "Next!"
There was an awkard silence, with everyone looking at each other bug-eyed and the cashier tapping his foot impatiently.
"Let's just go get food." Jamie said, a desperate look in her eye as she tugged on Thatcher's wrist.
"Um, yeah. Okay." Thatcher said and went with her to purchase snacks. As they ordered, Declan turned to Miriam.
"What the fuck was that?" He asked her.
"I know, right? We were totally in line before them!" Mirian declared stupidly.
God dammit, Declan, why do you have to go out with stupid bimbos?
He checked her out again, and that was enough to remind him.
"Well now we can decide what to get? Popcorn is on you though, remember?"
Miriam snorted. "Duh. But you have to buy me a box of lemonheads."
"Deal." Declan said. She smiled at him as she took his hand in hers and leaned into him.
Although Declan was still slightly annoyed with Miriam, he couldn't help but wrap his arm around her, and plant a kiss on her forehead. Her hair smells so good. Ahead of Declan and Miriam was the other pair consisting of Thatcher and Jamie. The two were leaning against the counter, chatting while they waited for their food.
Declan and Miriam moved up closer to them, close enough to catch snipets of their conversation.
Thatcher put his hand on Jamie's should gently and asked her, "Are you going to cry at the movie?"
