Look at her! She looks so pathetic..." "haha what are you crying about, stupid?"
"Awww are you gonna call your mamma to help you?"

Those were some of the things they told me most of the time, no matter what I did, no matter what I told them, they never stopped.
They've always bullied me, all because I lack of my left eye due to an accident when I was younger, you may be wondering: "why don't you tell someone you trust?"
The thing is...
I don't trust anyone anymore
my mother doesn't seem to care about what I do, I tried telling my her about the bullying but all she said was... "oh darling! It's okay, they're just joking, don't listen to them", "b-but momma, they tell me I'm weird, they throw pieces of paper at me, they push me and they even take away my belongings!" I exclaimed, "now now darling, we can talk about this later, I'm very busy right now" that's all she said.
My mother has only cared of her job and going out with men most nights, she would usually come back home drunk or with some man; you also must be wondering where my father was, and, well, he left short after my mother gave birth to me, what a coward...
"Listen to me you brat!" Angelica said while tugging my short black hair "weirdos like you should vanish from this place!" She then grabbed what seemed to be a pocket knife "and I'll make sure you regret being alive..." I stayed there, paralyzed, not knowing what to do; I suppose this is the end...?

Just as she was going to put the pocket knife on my cheek a girl with dark green hair, tied up in pigtails came into the bathroom surprising Angelica and her group of friends, "Hey! Leave her alone Angelica!", The girl yelled, "mind your own business Jade!", Angelica replied angrily, so that's the name of the girl huh? Why would she stay up to me? Why would she want to protect a weirdo like me?
"Leave her alone Angelica, or else I'll call a teacher!", Jade yelled, Angelica and her friends exchanged glances and they ran off leaving me and Jade on our own in the bathroom.
"Hey, you okay?", Jade asked me extending her hand to me, I nodded in response while she helped me get up; "My name is Jade, what's yours?" "Diana", I replied,
"Cute name!" "Th-thanks...", Jade seemed to notice my eye patch on my left eye, most of the time I cover it with my hair but due to Angelica beating me up it was left uncovered, "hey why'd you have an eye patch?", Jade asked me, I quickly covered it up again with my hair, "s-sorry if it disgusts you...", I replied, "disgust me? Why would it disgust me? I think it looks cool!", I was surprised about Jade's response, most people find it weird or disgusting, "really...?", "yeah! You look like a pirate!", She grinned, "Pirates are cool!", "heh, I suppose they are", I smiled weakly, "I have an eye patch because when I was 5, I lost my left eye because of an accident with a stick", I told Jade, "oof, that must've hurt", Jade replied, "yeah, a lot...".
We stood there awkwardly until Jade decided to ask, "have you told a teacher about this?" "yeah... but they don't believe me, they always believe Angelica and her friends", I replied to her, "Do your parents know about this?", Jade asked, I stayed silent looking at the ground, 'She doesn't have to know that my momma doesn't care much about me', I thought to myself, "do you have family problems?", Jade asked, I only nodded in response, "B-But please, don't tell anyone about this...", I replied rapidly; Jade nods, "okay, I won't tell anyone", I smile relieved.

~After school~

Short after the last period it started to rain.
"Oh geez, it's raining real hard...", I mumbled to myself, "and I didn't bring an umbrella..."
"Hey look who's over there!", "Not this again..."; I saw Angelica and her friends walk towards me,"Hey there, loser!", She said, "awww did wittle Diana forget her umbrella?" She then said in a babyish voice, I sigh, "Angelica, don't you have something better else to do...?" I tell her, "I'm not in the mood, just, leave me alone for once, please". She pushes me hard enough to make me fall into a puddle, "listen once again you weirdo, you don't belong here and you never will!" She finished that last sentence with a splash of water on my head; She then walks away laughing with her friends, I stand up and start running back home, but on the way there I bump into someone by accident, She turns around and I notice that it was Jade, we both look at each other in the eyes as the rain is pouring down on us, "Hey, you okay?", She asked, I give a small nod as she puts her umbrella over me covering me from the rain, "let's walk home together", she replies smiling, "we can share my umbrella if you want", "thanks", I said her giving her a small smile.
After that, we started to walk home together, and the day after that, and the day after that, and for the rest of the school year; we both became really close, we were inseparable.

I just, really hoped that we would last forever together, but not everything has to go the way we want to...
