Today is the same as always. Get up, eat, go to the studio, and rehearse. After doing this for weeks on end my voice is hoarse. However, my teacher doesn't know the meaning of the word tired, and Ms. Nessa is pushing me.

"Today we're seeing how much power you can generate. You'll be singing Run Run Run by Celeste Buckingham. " Ms. Nessa informs me.

"I can project my voice more than Ella's!" I groan.

"Yes."

I glare at her in turn. She motions for me to stand in my position, and starts the music.

"All is fair in love and war, but all I do is love you more! Our love is crazy, unhealthy, but I can't keep from you baby!" I start out slow and build up. "So you said ,"Why even bother?" Set this love, set me on fire. How I wish you'd be the victim, so you'd see just how I'm feeling. You better know, know, know that I have conditions. I make the rules and make the decisions, and I-I-I want nothing less than what I deserve. " Here comes the chorus, "So you'd better run, run, run before I decide that you are mine two stars will collide, you'd better run, run, run nowhere to run but to me." My voice falters at the end and Ms. Nessa winces.

"Some how I don't get the picture, don't know why you are the winner. Our love is not what we wanted, but baby you finished just what you started!" I sing with emotion. I take a breath ready to start the next verse, but Ms. Nessa stops me, "Ok, now we're going to practice the duet."

She get up and walks over to the piano, I sit by the keyboard and adjust the volume.

"One, two, three," Ms. Nessa begins playing and after five meausures I join her.

"We're a thousand miles from comfort, we have traveled land and sea. But as long as you are with me, there's no place I'd rather be." Ms. Nessa starts out.

"And I would wait forever, exulted in the scene, as long as I am with you my heart continues to beat." I sing.

Ms. Nessa joins me now,"With every step we take, Kyoto to the bay, strolling so casually. We're different and the same, gave you another name, switch up the batteries. If you gave me a chance I would take it, it's a shot in the dark, but I'll make it."

I take a breath, ready to start, but I'm interrupted by Ella singing Problem. I look at Ms. Nessa, begging her to let me go.

"Fine," she sighs.

I smile at her and dash out of the room into the dance studio.
