I Can't Help Falling In Love With You

Chapter 1

Jess' Pov

"MOM!" I scream running down the stairs.

"What now Jess?" My mom answers annoyed.

"Kyle's running around with my-" I start but I'm suddenly cut off.

"Fine have it back, baby." Kyle says handing me back my phone.

"Thank you very much." I huff.

I walk back up to my room and throw my phone on my bed. Now I have to get ready for work. It's Saturday so I work all day. But I don't mind because I love working with my Uncle Charlie and my cousins at his diner.

I put on my uniform and my saddle shoes then walk over to mirror and put my hair up, and put on my necklace and earrings. I walk over to my vanity and put on eye liner and mascara. It's just work, I'm trying to impress anybody.

I skip downstairs looking for Evan to see if he can walk me to work. The diner is right down the street but I hate walking alone.

"Ev!?" I yell into the kitchen.

"Hm" He turns around with his mouth full of muffin.

I chuckle at his immaturity and answer him.

"Can you please walk me to work?"

"Yeah, can I finish my muffin first?" He asks with puppy eyes.

"Whatever, loser." I scoff causing him to run over and put me in a head lock.

"EVAN I CAN'T BREATHE!" I scream and he lets go. I turn around and punch him in the chest.

"Oww!" He cries.

"Oh come on it wasn't even that hard. Now shut up and eat your muffin I have to get to work." He stuffs the rest of his muffin in his mouth. Gross.

"Oa Wats ko!" He says with a full mouth.

"Swallow, and try again." I chuckle.

"Ok, let's go!" He says clearly this time.

We walk outside and Mrs. Lynch is outside watering her flowers. I wait till I get to the end of the driveway to say my hello's.

"Good morning Mrs.Lynch!" I shout so she can hear me.

"Good morning Jessica! And I've been telling you for almost three years now to call me Stormie!" She laughs.

"Sorry, haha. Just the way I was raised." I giggle.

"Well you were raised right then, with manners!" She states.

"Yes ma'am. Well I gotta get going. Have a good day! Tell Rydel I said hi?" I ask.

"Will Do. You have a good day too honey!" She replies.

I wave one last time and run to catch up with Evan who is already half way down the street.

"Wow. Couldn't even wait." I breathe.

"Nope." He said back popping the 'p'.

We continue to walk to the diner and about five minutes later we get there. And see my cousins sitting around doing nothing. I look at the clock, it's 8:30. We open in thirty minutes and it's still a mess from last night.

Normally at night I would clean the tables but I had last night off so my cousins had to. But of course them being 15 and 16 they think it's okay to leave the mess till the morning.

I say goodbye to Evan and thank him for walking with me and scramble to clean up the booths. I walk over to my cousins.

"You know you could get up and do what you're getting paid to do?" I tell them angrily.

"Oh come on Jessie, we're sorry." I cringed at Jessie. Everybody knows I hate hearing that now.

"It's fine. And don't call me Jessie." I say through my clinched teeth and walk back to the front to seat people.

So here's the first chapter! I'm REALLY sorry for not updating but school is kind of more important right now. But I really, really hope you guys enjoyed this chapter. I wonder why Jess doesn't like to be called Jessie? Guess we'll just have to wait and see! Okay, have a goodnight!
