"You want me to go?" Carson looks between the female in front of him and the small card in his hand, completely baffled. The card was a wedding invitation from your cousin. She had invited you- and any plus one- to her wedding at an adorable outside venue in some park a few hours away in two weeks. The card in his hand was decorated with dark blue flowers and green leaves that surrounded the cursive text.

"Please, Carson? I haven't seen my cousin in so long and I need someone to go with me," you pouted. He gave you a skeptical look, pressing his lips together.

"I mean you could go alone, or take someone else. I think Travis would be more fit to bring to something family related. And social like that where I have to be behaved," he joked, handing the card back to you. You held the small card in your hands and you sighed.

"Think about it? I told my family I would bring a date, and I think you are the most bearable to have around on a two hour road trip there and a long wedding reception," you said, then you froze, your face flaring red, catching what you said. And it seemed that Carson did too, by the grand smile that spread on his face in that instant.

"Oh, a date? If you told me it was a date, Y/n, I would've said yes immediately," he teased, making you even more embarrassed. You tried to hide your face behind the small wedding card in your hands, making him laugh.

"You know that's not what I meant Carson," you tried to explain. You hated to admit it, but you had an unsettled crush on Carson for a while. Every smile and every laugh sent you in a spiral of heart ache. You debated on telling him, but your constant worry stopped you everytime- you both were busy people, and he probably ever looked at you that way. Noticing how embarrassed you must've looked, he stopped teasing you, a warm smile replacing his smirk from earlier.

"I'm joking, Y/n. Don't worry, I'll go with you, date or not." You let out a relieved sigh at his words, the stress you had just melting away.

"So, can I wear khakis?"

"Absolutely not."

The week came of the wedding, and both you and Carson were extremely excited- mainly because you both stayed at your parent's house. Carson had already met your parents a while back, and they already adored him. His charisma and his jokes never failed to bring smiles to the dinner table, so when they found out you brought him to go along with you on the wedding, they were absolutely ecstatic. They offered immediately to let you two stay the night at their home, and of course you couldn't say no. You all went out for lunch the afternoon you came, and immediately when you came back you all immediately went to change.

You were wearing a long floral dress that was a soft color, with no sleeves/sleeves, that hugged your body in all good places. You looked in the mirror, seeing that you looked good, and picked up your shoes and your purse in your hands as you go into the living room, only to see Carson with your parents holding a thin book in his hands.

"Hey guys, what is that?" You wondered, as you started going closer. Your eyes caught the front of the book and your blood turned cold, realizing what power Carson was holding.

"Oh, your baby pictures dear! How can we not brag about how cute our daughter is to a friend?" Your dad spoke, a wide smile on his face as he recollected memorizes of you in your youth. You, on the other hand, wanted those memories to be kept away.

"Y/n, look at you in this one! Playing in a kiddie pool!" Carson grinned, pointing at one of the pictures on the page that he was on, as your parents looked at it too and aww-ed.

"Why the heck would you show Carson these?!" You cried out, covering your face in your hands. You can already tell your face was burning red just by feeling the heat rising quickly to your face.

There was a beeping in the kitchen coming from the oven. Your parents both perked up at the noise. "That must be the pie, honey! Come and help me please?" Your mom pulled away from the photo book and Carson and quickly rushed with your dad to the other room. Once they left, you slowly dragged your feet over to the left side of Carson, looking at the photos he was on.

"This one is super cute too," Carson pointed at another picture of baby you in a high chair with a lemon in your hand and a distraught expression on your face. You could help but let out a small laugh.

"I can't believe they showed you this. This is probably the worst thing a parent could ever do to you." Carson smiles at your words.

"Well, at least now you just were cute from the beginning."

"Excuse me?"
