Ashley POV
Here I am again bored out of my mind in the middle of a pack meeting that I was dragged to by Zach. These meeting weren't all bad though during these meetings I would always find myself nonchalantly stealing a few glances at the alphas mate.
Her pretty ginger hair was pulled up into a tight bun on her head and her bright green orbs always more captivating as you stare into them. Suddenly those green orbs met mine. I'd been caught. Abby didn't seem to mind though as she laughed quietly and smiled at me.
She was everything I wanted but also everything I couldn't have.

After the meeting I watched as Abby stood up walking towards me I took this time to admire her. She wore a long sleeve black dress that showed off her curves just right and a pair of black heels.
"Hey Ashley I was just wandering if you'd like to have lunch with me today?" She said shyly pushing a stray piece of hair behind her ear. I pinched my leg to see if this was real and surley enough it was.
I smiled widely at her feeling my heart rate pick up the pace.
"Yeah yeah I'd love to" i said
"Cool let me just go tell the alpha" she said grabbing me by the wrist I could feel the electricy shoot through me her touch was like heaven
"Baby" she said getting the older males attention I felt irritation run through me making me frown slightly
"Do you mind if I go out with Ashley today" she said squeezing my hand harmlessly
He smiled down at her an gave her a peck on the lips making my heart sting with jealousy
"Yeah sure don't stay out too late" he said turning back to his business she smiled widely and took my hand leading me down the long cooridor to the front door. We walked out and I began to oogle at the sexy cars in front of me.
"Which one should we choose" she said crossing her arms and tapping her chin with her index finger
"Oh ya know what let's take my baby" she said walking over to a sheet covered car she ripped off the cover to reveal a sleak black porche my mouth dropped open in awe
"This is yours" i said basically drooling she giggled nodding the sound of her laughter made my heart flutter and took all of my attention away from the beauty in front of me.
"Alright let's go" she said hopping into her car and revving up the engine the sound filled my ears making me giddy with excitement.
She pulled the car out of the lot and sped down the road I felt my adrenaline pumping as she drove at illegal speeds. She turned on the radio and the song V.3005 by childish Gambino game on making us both look at eachother
"Wait you like Donald Glover" she said rather loudly I nodded quickly causing her to turn up the song
"Omg be my best friend " she said as he began to sing

Okay Hold up wait a minute all good just a week ago crew at my house and we party every week or so
On the radio that's my favorite song make me bounce around like I don't know like I won't be here long and now the thrill is gone

we finally arrived at the fancy looking resturaunt after screaming the lyrics at the top of our lungs. We got out walking inside and when I say I was underdressed that's an understatement everyone in there wore expensive looking clothing all name brand
Suddenly I felt very self conscious.
"What's wrong you look nervous" Abby said as the waiter seated us
" I feel underdressed" i said looking around
" Hey don't worry about it were here to have fun not worry about what a few snobby first class losers have to say" she said i laughed at her comment this girl was really something

After we ate we had gone to the park taking in the beautiful lake. The sun had began to set and we watched. I couldn't take my mind off of her beautiful lips I wanted to kiss her but I knew I couldnt. She drove me back to the pack house stopping the car in the long drive way
"Hey I had a really fun time tonight we should definitely hang out for often" she said making me unable to hold back a large toothy smile
" Yeah we should" i said
"G'night Ash" she said
"Night"
I walked inside after the drove off still feeling loopy from her presence I hummed as I walked through the door jumping as I saw Zach standing over me
"Hey Zach " i said with a wide smile
"What are you trying to accomplish with Abby" he said crossing his arms he really did know me well
"Nothing were just hanging out y'know the whole alphas 'escort' type thing gives us something to talk about " I said using air quotes
" She's not his escort she's his mate" he said I could see the anger running across his face and my small façade was fading under his glare. He was the alpha after all
"What are you trying to say" i said
"Ashley though other people might not notice I see the looks you give her at the meetings and trust me I've seen the look way too much and I'm warning you now, you cant do that" he said instantly I felt anger flush over me
" Can't do what" I yelled at him
" You can't interfere with someone else's mate especially the alphas do you Know what kind of shit you could put us in Ashley the risk of war is too high and what kind of person would you be if you ripped away the person he's supposed to spend the rest of his life with the person he's supposed to love over just some stupid crush" he yelled I instantly shrunk beneath him I hung my head low
"I know" I said quietly I felt his anger disappear and I was instantly filled with regret
"I know I can't have her Zach I keep telling myself all of those things over and over again she's not mine she's the alphas but they just keep getting thrown in the back of my mind because it's different when I look at her my heart speeds up and my palms sweat y'know it's just something I can't control" I said quietly
He sighed loudly
" Ashley I just want you safe and I want the pack safe I'm just trying to look out for you" he said softly
" I know" i said looking up at him he pulled me into a hug
"I'm sorry" he said letting me go I nodded walking towards the stairs
" Goodnight Zach" i said walking towards my room I felt pain in my heart it was like nothing ive ever felt before. The woman I truly want is somebody else's she's someone I'll never get the luxury of having. I flopped on my bed and pulled myself under the covers not caring enough to change. Slowly I drifted to sleep the last person on my mind was the alphas mate.
