Chapter 5

Ding dong

„Hello! I have a package for you from SpeedyDelivery!"

Hearing someone at the door, I rushed out with the men-turned-animals in my embrace.

„Th-they're... They're all animals!"

The delivery man bend to look at them and smiled „Yes, ma'am, I see you have some animals there. Can you sign this, please?" finishing he asked.

„No, what I mean is-„ before I could finish, dog Jihoon stamped the box. The man chuckled „What a smart dog!" He then stood up and started to leave „Thank you, see you next time!" With that, he was gone.

I sat down on the ground and sighed. That was weird. Suddenly, I heard hissing next to me.

„We can't even make a good cover story if you jerks transform too!"

„You're the one slipped up first, you stupid cat."

'Th-they can speak human language...'

„Excuse me!?" „Shut up, clumsy cat."

Woof

I heard Jihoon bark and then he sighed „Well better to tell her than to make up a story she won't believe."

He turned his head to look at me "I know this will sound weird, (y/n)-ah, but you remember the legend of the Zodiac?" I nodded. Pleased with my answer, Jihoon continued, "Well there's this curse that goes with the legend. There are twelve people, well thirteen if you count the cat, that are possessed by the spirits of Zodiac. I have a spirit of the Dog, Baekhyun has a spirit of the Rat, and Kim Doyoung over there has a spirit of the Cat. We're all possessed." Hearing that, the feline just hissed to show his dislike of the topic at hand. "The others in the Kim clan are possessed by the other Zodiac spirits, too. It's run in the family for hundreds of years now." Finishing said Jihoon.

Hearing all this, I was flabbergasted. 'This can't be real, can it? I mean, I most certainly can't deny that they did turn into animals, but still...'

'Maybe I'm dreaming? Yes, that must be it! I was so exhausted after I came back from school that I fell asleep and now I'm projecting all my pent-up stress from school into this weird hallucination!'

To prove my theory I pinched myself, hoping not to feel the sting. But I did...

And it hurt... Oh, no

„It doesn't give us any especially cool powers, though. Pretty much all we can do is communicate with our respective animals, and for some reason, we transform when we're sick or when hugged by the opposite sex. We automatically turn human again after a while..."

Just as Jihoon was finishing his sentence on explaining the curse, a poof could be heard, and the three men were standing before me. Three naked men, that is.

"...buck naked, I'm afraid." The tall men added bashfully.

Swiftly, I turned around as to not see them naked. Well, not see more than I already did.

What did I get myself into...?

"Sorry you had to see that" a fully clothed Jihoon mumbled. Clearing his throat, he continued, "Are you feeling a bit calmer now?"

Looking up from my lap, I mumbled nervously, "I've mostly processed things."

Hearing me say that, I could see his eyes soften. I just noticed that this whole time I was looking at Jihoon, I wasn't really looking at him.
