When I reached the two girls I was slightly out of breath and they were both swinging lowly on the swing set.

“What took you so long?” Lauren giggled as I sat down on the seat next to her.

“Oh, I don’t know, maybe it has to do with the fact you two both took off without me?” I said and both girls laugh.

“You gotta keep up with us baby!” Camila says

“So why are we really here?” I asked “What are we going to do today?”

Lauren looked up at the sky and her lips changed into a pout, “Well, I use to come here with my younger siblings but then they decided they were too old for it, so now this is where Camz and I come when we just need to chill or something.”

I nodded my head, when I thought about it, I realized I didn’t have a place like that was glad that Lauren shared it with me.

So we spent most of our time silent just swinging and relaxing just getting our thoughts together, and this was just as much fun as our first shopping trip together, just spending time together and enjoying each other’s company.

“Hey, isn’t that Niall and Harry?”  Camila’s voice rings out as she passes me and goes up into the sky, swinging high above me. And I turned and looked toward the slides where she was pointing. There was a shorter blonde boy and another with brown curls.

“I can’t tell from this far, you guys feel like going over and saying hey?” I asked, mostly asking Lauren, she had told me about her crush on the blond haired boy and I didn’t want to do anything to make her uncomfortable. Lauren looked back at me too and shrugged. So we slowly came to a stop on our swings and got up making our way over to the two boys.

“I thought I saw a curly top,” Camila says with a smirk when we do realise that it is the boys, I can see in the way Camila raises her eyebrows and the way her tongue slowly slips out of her mouth and back in that she is ready for some type of domination, and I wonder if I should be worried or excited.

“Hey,” Curly top says back and smiles back at Camila and I almost whimper, she’s gonna eat this poor boy alive.

“Don’t be afraid to say hi Niall,” Camila says acknowledging his presence and I watch Lauren’s green eyes brighten when he smiles at the three of us and waving hello.

“So what brings you to this lovely park?” Camila asks before coming over and sitting next to harry, she lets her shoulder lean up against his before pulling away, I watch the way she watches Harry and how he slowly comes around lets his shoulder touch hers again.

“Just looking for a place to let go of some steam, hard day.”

“Is everything OK?” Lauren looks up and into Niall’s blue eyes and he looks back at her and nods

“Mostly,” Niall’s hand runs up and down his face “So… I live with Harry, and I fucked up. I used my rent money for weed. They’re furious, if I can’t make up the money I’m gonna be out on the streets.”

“Niall,” and Lauren’s voice so soft and delicate I almost didn’t hear her it but Niall did and he smiled at her a little and placed his hand on top of hers.

“I just need to show them I’m not a complete idiot, make it up somehow and soon.”

“Have you guys heard about the talent show?” Camila asks and both boys turn and look at her “My mom, she works with the city. She’s doing a talent show, 1st place gets a thousand dollars. A thousand dollars you sound like you need.”  

I rose my eyebrows, Camila didn’t even tell me that part and she must have seen my face and she shrugged “I had to print out the flyers this morning, they’re going all over the school by tomorrow and all over town and online and on local news stations.”

Lauren, Harry, Niall, and I turn and look at Camila who raises her eyebrows. “What? I can’t help be apart of my city?” She laughs “I’m not even going to be in it, I’m helping run it.”

“While going to summer school, what else do you do?” Harry asks as he lips his lips looking into Camila’s eyes and oh yeah, he is so done for.

She smiles “Enough, and I still have room for more.” She winks at the boy and I watch his expression grow wider and fall apart into smiles.

Niall must feel it too so he looks away and turns to Lauren “Tell me more about yourself Lauren,” Niall says suddenly and Lauren bites her lip before looking down and speaking to Niall quietly, and he listens nodding his head at the right moments and I smiled Lauren’s getting the attention she wanted from him a little late, but better than never.

When my phone rings I pull it out of my pocket and smile when I see ZAYN calling and a picture I had taken of him while I was with him one day, pop up on my screen.

“Excuse me,” I say to the two (hopefully) new couples and turn away for privacy.

“Hello?” I say when I answer

“Miss you,” Zayn says in return “Can I see you after my shift? It’s almost over maybe we can go out for pizza? Or just head to my place?”

“We have homework tonight Zayn. I’m not just doing summer school for fun Zayn, like you.” I tell him with a laugh as much as I like Zayn he is one of the most beautifully distracting people I have ever come across.

“Can’t I help you with it?” Zayn mumbles and I can practically see him rubbing his thumb against his bottom lip and I roll my eyes.

“I’m pretty sure if you I did I would just end up kissing you all night,” I say truthfully and I smile because I’m more than sure I shocked Zayn into silence.

“Well then, how about this. I call you a cab and you come to here and do your homework so then afterward we can hang out.” Zayn says “So then we both win, I can see my beautiful girlfriend and my beautiful girlfriend can get her homework done.”

I pretended to debate the answer, holding the phone to my ear and listening to Zayn breathe on the other end of the phone. “I guessssss I can do that for you.” I laugh and Zayn does as well.

“Thank you so much Normani Kordei Hamilton for making me the happiness man by gracing me with your presence. Where are you? I’ll call the cab as soon we hang up.”

I gave Zayn the address to the school and he told me to “wait softly” and I told him I don’t know how the hell to do that. Zayn hung up without telling me how and then texted me only a couple minutes later saying a cab would come to me in ten minutes time.

I walked back to my group of friends who all seem to be talking and laughing and they all smile at me when they see, I also take notice in how close Lauren and Niall are sitting together close enough that if they move just one inch closer they’re thighs would touch and I could easily Camila’s arms wrapped around Harry and how he blushed crimson which meant he was more than down for it.

“Guys… I have to go,”

“Oh, where too?”

“Starbucks, actually,” I say and that easily comes with a whole lot of “Oooooooooooooo,” from both the boys and the girls and I roll my eyes.

“Shut up you losers,” I laugh “I’m heading out; unlock your car Camz so I can grab my bag.”

“No problem, boo, have fun with your boyfriend.”  Camila says taking her purse and pulling out her keys unlocking the car for me. She and Lauren get up and give me hugs and raise their eyebrows at me. I grab them both by their elbows.

“Both of you better tell about… this tonight. These boys… start of something new?” I ask quietly and I watch Lauren go red and Camila nod her head excitedly and I clap my hands in pride and joy. “Great, see y’all.” I wink at my girls then turn and wave at the two boys saying goodbye. By the time I made it too Camila’s car and pulled out my bag the cab was waiting for me as Zayn said.

“Are you Mani?” The driver asks and I nod as I hop in the backseat “Your husband asks me to take you to Starbucks, is that correct?”

And I almost laughed, covering my mouth and my smile. “Yes, that’s correct.”  

Question: short chapters or long chapters? If I end up making longer chapters like I use to the updates will take a lot more time than usual since I'm working on another story as well. Let me know in comments :)
