This will be a Halo Fanfic, I guess you would call it. It's my own story with fully original characters created in the Halo Universe. Hope you enjoy :)

"Hey man, you still listening?"

"Yeah.. Sorry. It's been a long couple of days. Where we up to."

"Coming up on the destination now. Get everyone ready to go."

"Thanks Cal, and remember don't leave unless we give you the say so. It's dangerous and I can't have any of you getting hurt."

"You got it, Commander."

"Just call me Sam. I hate titles." Sam got up from his seat next to Calvin and ventured to the back of the airship. He looked at each of his 7 men before sitting down in the back with them.

"Listen up, we're coming up on destination Zero. Once we land there is no turning back. We have to drive the Covenant away from Earth once and for all. Now I know you'll all probably shitting yourselves, but we need to focus on one goal. Lets kill these fu-

Sam.. Sam.. Sam wake up dammit!

Sam jolts back in his seat and looks around, rubbing his head and letting out a disappointing sigh.

"Where the hell did you go, boy?!"

"Just having a daymare."

"A what?!"

"Ya know, it's like a day dream, but it's a nightmare."

"Sammy boy, I don't give a shit about that! Focus up!"

"Yeah, right so what's next on the agenda."

"Its been just over a year since the end of the war, surely you remember?"

"How could I forget, it was my doing after all."

"Shut up and focus. We got informed of a mysterious aircraft bursting through the atmosphere by one of our beacons. Need you to go check on it for us. We think it's a Covenant lifeform."

"You've got to be joking. I wiped them all out. Just let me rest." Sam kicks back his feet and sighs outwardly.

"Ever since the war you've been this mopey sack of shit and I don't like it! Now get up off your ass and do this. This last mission, and we'll talk about your leave from the UNSC."

"Talk about leave? Alright fine, but I go solo."

"No way, I've got you a team all set and ready to go."

"I don't work well with others."

"Too damn bad, shithead. Now get going!" The moody General kicks Sam's feet off of his desk and laughs inwardly.

"After this is all said and done, I'm going to make you pay for the, Collins. Whatever. Who's my team?"

"A small group. They're just outside. Now get going!"

"Yeah, whatever." Sam gets up out of his seat and walks off into the hallway with his hands in his pockets. It had been so long since he had a team of his own. Back then things were easy. He was still young and full of life. Sam kept walking until he was outside, greeted by two familiar faces from his past.

"Long time no see, Sammy."

"Don't call me that. But it's good to see you too, Joseph."

"I heard you need a good pilot, and I just thought I would sign up since we got history."

"It's really good to see you're still kickin' Calvin."

"Please, call me Cal. Calvin is way too formal."
