I know this is titled 'Short Stories' butttttt I also have poems and I don't want to have to change the cover so I'll feature poems everyone couple short stories. Anyways I wrote this two hours as well. My class was given several prompts to choose from. I don't remember what those were however. But here we go! This is a collection by the way so there are two different poems I will signify this.

Fear:1

The cold liquid brushed against,

me.

Yellow blurred my vision,

causing me to recoil.

Deep breaths,

Take deep breaths.

I tried again,

on my own will.

The cold was refreshing,

the sun was hot.

I closed my,

eyes.

Calming until,

something touched me.

Blinding yellow,

Blinded by yellow.

I jumped,

pulling back farther.

Calm down,

I need to calm down.

I took another deep,

breath.

I need to do it,

it shouldn't be that hard.

Swirling blues,

swirling black.

It was beautiful,

but it was horrifying.

I could do it,

but not today.

Fear:2

The dark blue, faded,

to black.

The swirling colors,

drew in eyes.

It wasn't pretty,

It wasn't kind.

It pushed and pulled

from different directions

you lose your sight

you lose your, mind.

It tugged left,

it tugged right.

Trying to tear apart

and take away the light,

It was cold

it was empty.

It looked refreshing

but it stole your breath.

And the taste of salt,

scarred your throat.

It wasn't attractive,

it was alluring.

And it lured in,

unsuspecting victims.

It pulled them from the surface,

to the black, depths.

It frowned them in the cold, dark, empty

water.

So there we go that's the end of that. I wanted to have different tones. The first has more optimism and light while the second one is more dark and scary. And of course this came from my own fear of the ocean haha! That's all I hope you liked it and don't forget to comment any questions, comments, or concerns!
