Finally Falling

*Hollie’s POV*

I had grown up with the Brooks'. I have known them since I was four which, considering that I'm 16, is a long time. Both our dads left us when we were just tiny and since our mums were already close we decided to move in next door to each other in a small town called Glenroy in Melbourne. The brooks brothers consisted of Beau, the eldest at 18 and the twins Luke and Jai who were also 16. Beau's best friend Daniel's parents died in a car crash when he was 6 so Gina, the Brooks' mother, took him in as one of her own. The five of us had sleepovers every single night, but then Beau started to get older and was more interested in girls than our sleepovers but Jai, Luke, Skip (this is Daniel's nickname) and I would try and have then as often as possible which was usually every three or four nights due to studying and homework. 

Out of all the boys I was probably closest to Skip or Jai. It was a different type of close with both though. WithJai I tell him everything and anything. With Skip we just always have the best time when we're together, always laughing and always carrying on. During sleepovers we would almost always sleep in the same bed. Even now that we're sixteen and seventeen we still do it but it never seems weird or inappropriate because we're best friends and have been forever.

Today was the twins sixteenth birthday and I couldn't wait to give them their presents and cards. Tonight our two families were going out for dinner to Jai and Luke's favourite Italian restaurant Vito's. I woke up especially early to give the boys their presents; they better appreciate this. I got out of bed, threw on a jumper and some slippers and headed over to their house with my mum. We had a key so we just wandered right in and found everyone sitting in the living room. I took a seat next to Skip and asked him if the boys had opened anything yet and luckily they hadn't. Gina went first. 

"Ok now this present is very special and very expensive. You must promise me that you will always look after it and you will share it equally," I could see the boys faces drop slightly when Gina mentioned the sharing part, but since I already knew what the gift was I knew they would love it. "Your present is outside in the front driveway. Go get it." And at that the boys faces lit up before us. They both got up and sprinted to the door like five year olds. 

"Oh. My. Gosh." Luke screamed. "It's what I've always wanted thank you, thank you, thank you mum I love you!"

Jai still looked like he was in total shock. I knew he wanted this desperately. It might not have been the coolest car ever but that was ok because they knew their mum also paid for Beau's car. Skip used some of the money his parents left him to buy his own car. Now I was the only one without a car. However my birthday is only a few weeks after the twins' so hopefully I would get one then. 

After the twins were shown their new car we all ran home and got changed so we could go a drive. I threw on my shorts, a t shirt and my vans and got in the car. Skip was new to get in and he sat in the back with me.
