Chapter 1 The Begging

*Maria's p.o.v.*

Oh, hello my name is Maria Cooke I'm 15 years old and I play the guitar and keyboard.

Today is the last day of school, before February break. I'm so not excited cause my best friend Haley is making me go to a magcon concert. I just think the boys are stuck up and full of themselves.

When I got to school I walked to my locker and grabbed my books for first period. When I got to class I walked all the way to the back of the classroom and took my seat. After about two minuets the bell rang and my teacher Mrs. Birchenough walked in to start class.

After mr. Anderson, mr. Steves, and Mrs. Belle. It was time to go my least favorite place. The cafeteria. I sat down with my lunch next to Hayley, nobody else care to sit near us.

I looked down at my lunch and realized my glasses got foggy and cleaned them.

"How has your day been?" Hayley asks me

"Boring" I say

"I can't wait to see the magcon boys" she says and puts her hand over her forehead, thinking about things God only knows

"Yay" I say sarcastically

We finished our conversation and I threw my lunch away, and as I turned around I saw Dylan the hottest boy in the school.

"Hello Mariah" he says

"M-Maria" I correct him

"Wh-what?" He says mocking me

His friends behind him laugh

"I ha- have" I tried to say but was cut off

"The ugliest face in the world" he says "I already know" he says walking away with his laughing friends.

I run outside And sit underneath the apple tree that's in the back of the school, curl up in a ball and cry, and cry, and cry.

I decided to go home and not get caught out here. I was walking home and saw a person recording a video of himself doing the ALS ice bucket challenge, he looked familiar...

Oh my god it's one of the boys from magcon, I only know because Hayley had a poster of them in her room. I guess they got here two days early, but I didn't care so I kept walking.

(Day of concert)

I was getting ready for the magcon concert with Hayley. Once we finished we got into the car and Hayley's older brother Brennan drove us to the concert.

As we got out of the car Brennan drove off. There was a guy standing out side that said he had meet and greet passes, so of corse Hayley had to go get us the last two he had.

The boys jumped all over the stage the whole time and actually we're quite funny, Cameron made a vine with the crowd, yes I'm finally learning their names. And Jack G. Is the one I saw doing the ice bucket challenge.

When shawn Mendes came out to sing and started I was in love with his voice, he was amazing and really cute. Now I see why Hayley likes this so much.

After the concert we got in line for the meet and greet. When it was our turn we walked up to Taylor said hi and got a hug and picture with him. We did the same for each boy and mahogony lox. When we got to Shawn I saw his eyes widen, I don't know why, but after he took the picture with us he asked if I could stay here until the meet and greet is over I said sure shyly.

Hayley had to leave since she wasn't invited to stay which I felt bad for, but I promised I would tell her everything.

After all the girls left Shawn walked up to me, my heart started pounding

"Hello thanks for staying" he said

"Sure" I said back looking at my feet

"What's your name?" He asked

" uh... Maria" I said

"Well Maria your very beautiful" he says

I immediately turned red

"Th-thanks" I said I looked up just for a moment to see his brown beautiful eyes.

Once we finished talking he asked me how I was going to get home.

Crap, I don't know how to get home from here, I tried calling Hayley, Brennan, my mom, and dad. No one was answering me. I walked back up to Shawn.

"I don't know how to get home, and no one is answered my calls or texts" I said starting to not be so shy around shawn

"We'll you can come to my house if you want" he said

"Wait you live around here?" I said

"Yeah" he says back

"But you don't know me" I say to him

"Don't have to I trust you" he said staring into my blue eyes.
