*SATURDAY MORNING JUMPED OUTTA BED, PUT ON MY FRESH SUIT* ( Rude - by magic)Moaning I rolled over to hit snooze on the most annoying alarm of my life, who in their right mind would even set such an alarm. I decided why not sleep for a little bit longer and Just as I fall back to sleep...
*BANG BANG BANG*
"SKIELA-LEA GET UP FOR SCHOOL", yelled my mum from out side the door,"IM AWAKE" I yelled back so annoyed that I now had to face the daunting reality of grade 9. All I wanted to do was turn the whole world on mute and allow myself to just sleep the entire year away. Who even needs an education anyway, sleep is way more important don't you think?. But of course I roll my sorry butt out of bed and as my tired eyes land on the dreadful uniform of 'Pinky River High School' another loud moan escaped my lips.
I take my time in the bathroom getting ready for the dreadful morning I know I'm about to have and it dawns on me, "MUM, do you know where the grade 9s have to meet to find our form Teachers", I don't want my friends and I to walk in late to the parade and look like idiots having everyone stare knowing we went to the wrong one.
"No, but there should be signs up around school to tell everyone where to go" she yells back through yet another door. I swear our school morning routine only consists of us yelling at each other through every door in the house.
"Ok, I guess the girls and I will figure it out"
*BANG BANG BANG*
"SKEILA, GET OUT OF THE BATHROOM YOU KNOW YOU AREN'T THE ONLY ONE WHO NEEDS TO HAVE A SHOWER AND GET READY" yelled the most annoying little sh*t of my life, who was welcomed into the family 2 years after me, my little brother James. I didn't even bother answering him I was NOT in the mood to yell through anymore closed doors. So I finished getting dressed and ready for school and left the bathroom so the little rascal could use it.~ 7:30am ~
And out the door we go, I didn't live that far from my school maybe a 10 minute drive and a half hour to 20 minute walk depending on ones mood. But at 7:30 in the morning I was in no mood to walk and my mum worked at my school anyway so it was convenient to just catch a ride. We dropped my brother off at his primary and then made our way to PRHS and with every dreadful kilometre we got closer the more I craved the bed that waited for me back at home. Walking into school I b-lined it straight to my friends and I hangout spot down the bottom of the campus next to the sports hall, which in turn will end up being a blessing. Since I get to school so early there were no signs up saying where we had to go for the soon to be lengthy parade where only the nerds paid attention to what was said while the rest of the cohort only tuned in for what teacher and classroom they would leave to for Form class.~ 8:00am ~
After sitting on my own for what felt like years, I finally looked up from my phone to see one of my close friends walking towards me "TRICIA" I screamed
I got a howling "SKIELA" back and we both ran to give each other a hugPatricia and I have been Bestfriends since, well actually I can't remember a time where we weren't Bestfriends, she's always been by my side through thick and thin and will never fail to make me smile.
We quickly got caught up with each other though it didn't take long since we only saw each other yesterday hahah, but I quickly asked "do you know where we are meant to go for parade, there was nothing posted around school when I got here"
"Yeah actually we are in the sports hall which is excellent we can get in as soon as it opens and stare at everyone else as they come in" she finishes with full belly contagious laughter that soon had me going. Just as we are sobering up the other girls Lilliana and Poppy show up wondering why we were laughing so much already and so early in the morning. We all got caught up after the long but short 6 weeks holidays we had.
~ 8:30am ~
*DING DONG DING DONG DING DONG*Rings the bell to tell us to go to form class but as it's the first day we have to go to parade, massive eye roll I know right. So the girls and I made way quickly in before everyone else started to make their own way inside as-well and the door becomes a stampede. Of course us girls sat right in front of the stage so we could spread out a little bit instead of being so squeezed together once more people came in. Soon enough everyone was seated and teachers were standing along the outside of us all whilst our HOD of year nine (Head Of Department) and deputy principle for our year level we're up on stage about to get ready to silence us all.
After singing the national anthem, Mr Combs our HOD began to introduce teachers in form class orders and started to list the names of students in the corresponding class and would say what classroom we would be going to.
"9A your form teach for the year is going to be Mrs Mackintosh and will be in K5, the following students will follow Mrs Mackintosh at the end of the list, everyone else please remain quiet and seated". Tricia and I looked at each other hoping we will be in the same form class again this year. We turned back to Mr Combs up on stage as he started reading out the names " Jeff Anderson, Billy Askin, ... , Skiela-Lea Brooks, ..." I was getting worried that I wouldn't have anyone in my form class I knew. As he was reaching the end of the list the very last name changed that instantly "and lastly Patricia Brown" we both looked at each other with such BIG grins and all those named go up silently and made our way to K9.
