Finally reaching K9, we all sat down in the first of many desk and chairs that we will evidently be sitting in throughout the next year. Who would ever put someone through such torture, making children sit in a chair behind a desk for 70 minutes, 4 times a day, 5 times a week, they could not have been in their right mind. Mrs Mackintosh silenced us all and began to mark yet another roll, like she could have lost any of us on the small walk up to the classroom.
"Skiela and Patricia can you guys walk this role up to the student foyer please"Like we were gonna say no to being able to get out of class and walk around and chat for a little bit while everyone else had to sit down and listen to the teach blabber on about stuff no one cares about.
When we reached the foyer, so many other students were crowding the window. Either coming late or doing the same as us and bring the role up, we waited in line for what felt like 10 minutes till we realised there were boxes with each year level to place the roles into.
Tricia and I headed back, and sat behind that dreadful desk. Mrs Mackintosh once we sat down delivered news that both made us happy and annoyed, " Ok guys, so the next bell for first session will be going off but just for today everyone will be staying in their respected form classes until 2nd session" as expected we all groaned in misery.
~ 8:50am ~
*DING DONG DING DONG DING DONG*We all remained seated which would be our next action for the following 70 minute class we have ahead of us. "Ok guys so we're going to start off by giving out your planners, take one and pass them on". Mrs Mackintosh started to hand out piles of planners to each table, and soon followed with handing out our timetables.
Me being me I straight away started to colour code classes, and familiarising myself with where my classes were. Second session today I have English which I guess isn't too bad for the first day, but it kinda sucks that I'm missing out on Art today which is my session 1 class on a Monday.
For the past few years art and reading has become a passion of mine. It allows me to escape reality and push everyone and everything to the back of my mind and not a single have worry about anything, and allows me to become free even if it's for a short amount of time.
After everyone got their planners and placed their timetables in the clear slot Mrs Mackintosh made sure we all double checked that we had no blank sessions and that there was no errors. "If there are any errors, Mr Combs office will be open both lunch breaks before and after school till the end of week 3, if any problems arise or changes are needed be sure to visit his office in Y block"
"Ok so moving on, can everyone make sure to wright down your name, form class, and my name on the first page of your planner. Also just a heads up as well guys first day back in every term you will have another form class like this one" que the moans and groans of 25 students.
We continued to go through how the school year will run from of course extended form classes, to assessments, to which days us grade 9s have our year level parades. Knowing this will make sure we are aware of what days not to come to K9.
~9:50am~
*DING DONG DING DONG DING DONG*"Guys enjoy the rest of your day and I'll see you tomorrow, make sure to bring your planners in with you!" Mrs Mackintosh said as we all rushed out the door.
I didn't have to go too far for my next class only 2 buildings to J10 for English, waiting outside the classroom for your teacher has to be one of the most nerve racking things ever. Standing there wondering if you have anyone you know OR even like in your class and just watching people rock up knowing you don't like them is the worst.
Then a close friend of mine turned around the corner and boii was I happy "Matilda, OMG I'm so glad your in this class I thought I was gonna be on my own" I laugh nervously as she reaches me.
Our Teacher finally comes to the door Mrs Carter, "Ok guys, make sure you have your book, pens and planner out before coming in and place all bags under your desks please"
Ok wow already so demanding on the first day, like calm down lady maybe introduce yourself before barking orders like a drill Sargent. Matilda and I looked at each other and just roll our eyes. By the end of today I think my eyes are going to be permanently in the back of my head with the amount of eye rolling I'm doing.
Matilda and I decided to sit at the back left to hopefully sit on our own, but as everyone came in three people we didn't know decided to sit down with us. They introduced themselves. The Guy who took the seat in from of me said his name was Liam, the girl in front of Matilda introduced herself as Amy and the girl next to her introduced herself as Lisa.
They all seemed like alright people and people I could actually be friends with, which is good considering I'll be in the same class as them for a whole school year.
