"Guys make sure you finish writing the questions on the board and answer them before I see you next as you'll need those answers next lesson" everyone's eyes popped out of our heads and jaws dropped to the floor when Mrs Carter dropped that bomb shell.

Who gives homework todo ON THE FIRST DAY. We hardly even known what we are learning, we hardly have the attention span to stay alert in class let alone go home after 6 hours at school and work on stuff from school that probably means nothing this early on in the term.

After saying goodbye to the group I was sitting with in English Matilda and I started to walk back down to the bottom of the school. I had offered for Matilda to come have lunch with me and the girls if she wanted.

"Yeah I might actually because I'm not sure if anyone else I know is here today" she replied.

"So what do you think of Liam and the others?" I asked inquisitively.

"The girls seem really nice and I recon they will be easy to get along with and become friends with, Liam seems alright I guess I didn't really get a vibe from him. Though by the looks of it you two seemed to talk a lot, what's the go there?" She seemed to be hinting at something I wasn't getting at all.

" There isn't anything anywhere I only just met him today just like you did! So I don't know what you saw, he honestly just seems like someone I could be close friends with " I replied in defence which I shouldn't have to.

Holding her hands up "ok ok sorry I must have read the situation wrong"

"It's fine let's just get to the sports hall and I'll introduce you to the others you already know Tricia so it won't be too awkward for you" I smiled at her and we continued with discussing Mrs Carter and our thoughts on her.

"She's a bit how's ya going with rules aye, like first day she didn't really start off on the best foot I could see everyone already getting annoyed with her before we even walked inside" Matilda voicing my own earlier opinions, I just laughed and agreed with her as we turn down the path to meet the rest of the girls.

Tricia was sitting down with Lilly about to start eating, "HEY guys, Tricia you remember Matilda right?"

"Yeah of course" she replied with a welcoming smile "how have you been?"

"Yeah good"

"Lilly this is Matilda she's gonna be sitting with us"

"Nice to meet you, let's eat because ya girls starving" Lilly greeted so nicely.

We all started eating when I began to wonder "Guys where's Poppy, don't tell me she's in trouble already on the first day"

"Wow you think so little of me" poppy pops around the corner pretending to be offended

" Come on we wouldn't put it passed you, anyway this is Matilda she's gonna be sitting with us at lunch"

Poppy laughs off my comment, "Hey!, nice to meet you"

Matilda looks up from her lunch with a smile "nice to meet you too"

Poppy plops down next to me and we all mindlessly go back to eating in utter silence enjoying eating for the first time in what feels like forever.

"Mmmmmh!! guys what does everyone have next?" I ask finishing my mouth full of food.

"I have Home Economics in C block, then Science in F2" Matilda replies first

"I have early childhood, then Science in F1 after lunch so we can walk there together" I replied

"Skiela we have science and early childhood TOGETHER YYAASSS" Tricia started yelling scaring us all

"Well good luck to whatever teacher has you two in a class together" Poppy spoke through a giggle. Tricia and I just looked at each other with grins saying 'boy this is gonna be fun'. Though let's hope we learn something since science is actually pretty fun in my books.

And off to early childhood I go, again hoping I know someone in my class that Tricia and I will get along with. We had so much drama last year with fake people and we really aren't in the mood for another year like that. We walked with Matilda to C block then we continued to the demountable classrooms next door and Tricia and I were in C10 for early childhood.

Some of the students were already in class along with the teacher so we walked in and seated ourselves of course at the back of the class since no one has taken the seats yet.

The second bell ran which meant everyone had to be seated in classes or obviously they will be marked late, but some teachers weren't too strict on it... Well this teacher wasn't one of them. So please remind me to never be late to Early Childhood like EVER.

"Ok guys quiet down. Mr name is Mrs Curry, I'm your teacher for the year" Tricia and I didn't move our heads even the slightest to look at one another when Mrs Curry said her name because we knew all to well where it would land us.

But boii it was keeping up the appearance that I wasn't about to burst into a full fit of laughter and miraculously I did and so did Tricia which let's be real would have been harder for her than me. Once we both knew we were calm enough and under Control enough we looked at each other with raised eyebrows as though to say "WHAT TYPE OF NAME IS THAT"

Mrs Curry moves quickly through the role and Moved swiftly into explaining the outline of the year and what we will be doing and with being a optional 2 year course she briefly went over what would be taught in grade 10 if we continued.

We did some little ice breakers which was good considering I met again people that seemed like people I could be friends with, and who would hopefully make this class one I look forward to coming to because let's be real friends are what makes a classroom fun.

A long and dreadful 70 minutes later and the pleasant ringing of the bell for lunch sounded but before we could even begin to pack up you best believe Mrs Curry delivered the most famous line students hear from teachers

"The bell doesn't dismiss you I do" She raised her voice over the rising chatter.

We all moaned and silenced just in hopes she would release us for lunch, and luckily it worked. At that moment I knew she wouldn't be a teacher I liked not one bit.
