It's funny how your pain
Is overcome with a laugh
It's funny how a friend
Can help you overcome your past
It's funny how you think that all the things you lose are bad,
When some habits shed from your skin
Can only make you glad
It's funny how some arrogant jerks
Can prove to change for the better,
And how much passion and promises
Can be wielded in a love letter
It's funny how that special someone
Can drop everything and run
To feel your hearts beat together, whole, as one
It's funny how a single day can change your destiny
Making new memories to cherish carefully
It's funny how in the midnight black
the stars provide a spark
And the tiny pinprick of light
Is a barrier against the dark
There are millions of people in this world,
Not all are kind and true
But the choice of who to spend time with
Is entirely up to you
