My eye was locked on the target. I was ready to make the kill. I pulled back my bow strings and was almost ready to let them fly when loud shouts and heavy footsteps and the sound of hooves scared me and my prey. I ran back to my camp as fast as I could go. My heart was practically beating out of my chest and my breathing was rough, but at the moment I wasn't thinking about hyperventilating or passing out from exaughstion, my only though was, they've caught me! I kept running until I finally very clumsily ran into my makeshift camp. While I was running in I caught the mud wrong and slid, sending my arrows scattering everywhere. I cursed under my breath and sloppily threw all of my equipment into the Pit. I then ran to hide under my blanket which was, thankfully, covered in leaves and and mud from my earlier fall. I covered myself and almost gagged. I hated the smell of the mud around this part of the forest...it always smelled like sewage. Anyway I heard the hooves and pounding footsteps grow closer and I found myself shivering in fear. I was so afraid they had caught me and were going to find me and kill me. I peeked out and saw nothing. I didnt even have time for me to be confused because someone ran over me, their shoes stomping on my ribs. It didn't help when soon after that two horses worth of hooves stomped out the rest of me. I was in a whole lot of pain but I couldn't help but be grateful for what I was. Without that part of me, I would have probably died. Suddenly the footsteps and hooves stopped. I peeked out from under my blanket only to find that the cops had caught the runner. I gasped when I saw how close they were and, obviously, that gave away wear I was. One of the cops yanked the blanket off of me and I squeaked in pure helplessness. I look up at the cop. He would have never found out what I was if he hadn't seen my eyes. But as soon as my eyes locked with his I had multiple guns pointed at my head. I looked up at the cops pleadingly. I was too young to die! But....I guess I don't ever age anyway. The cops put handcuffs on me and hauled me and the runner away. Little did I know that this little problem....would be a good thing.
I thought that I would just be put in a high security prison for the rest of my life. I don't know why I expected it. I mean I am a menace to the entire country. Well anyway, I was sitting in a large stone room by myself, which I was thankful for. It meant I had time to think to myself, What did they do to the others?, I asked myself, Will they do that to me? I wonder.....
An interrigator came in and sat across from me. He was guarded by two men in full armor suits and AK-47's. The interrigator looked at me and smiled. I liked this guy...he looked kind. Anyway he looked at me with soft eyes, "Hello. My name in officer Jayden Shade." I smiled shyly at him and looked down at my lap. He leaned on the desk, "Can I ask what your name is?" I looked back up at him and stared him straight in the eyes. I must have startled the security men because they pointed the guns at me. But Mr.Shade kept smiling kindly and waited. I didn't really have a name as far as I was concerned. So. I guess this was my chance to make one of my own, "uh..Logan"
