Take Me Back

It's been 3 weeks since Clementine and AJ made it back to the school safe and sound along with the rest of the school. With the threat of the raiders eliminated, the kids could finally feel free of danger and work on building Ericson the way they wanted it to be. Violet and Louis are still bickering on how things should be done, but in the end they both agreed to call it Texas Two but with a skylight, just like Louis had told them he and his family had before the apocalypse.
"Seriously, Vi? Purple? We're not painting the whole school purple." Louis said as they walked out from the admin building.
"I'm not talking about painting the entire school purple, maybe some rooms or the roofs... hey Clem!" 
Violet waved at Clementine when she spotted her and AJ walking through the gate after returning from fishing. Their buckets were full, which meant there would be a good big meal tonight. Omar will have his hands full with all that fish, but it was a change from what they usually eat - rabbits.

30 minutes later, Willy and Aasim returned from their hunt empty handed. They went as far as past the 'safe zone' to search for any wild life, but it was void of any. Aasim was hoping to find some wild boar since Ruby had knowledge of them. She told them there is a possibility some might roam there. Fortunately, Clementine and AJ saved the day.
"Ladies and gentlemen, dinner is served."
Louis said with a grin on his face as they all sat down at the tables connected. Despite it being the apocalypse, Louis was still the jester of the group, the one to lift the mood when it was gloom, you needed that to endure tough times.
"Hey Clem, you are great when it comes to bringing us food, even better than Aasim. Good job." He winked at her and in return she giggled at his silliness.
"I helped too!" AJ exclaimed.
"Of course, you did. My little goofball."
Clementine looked at him and scratched his afro. It had gotten reasonably longer, and it needed a trim. But he was never much for anyone touching his hair. It was special to him.

When they finished eating, Omar picked the dirty plates and took them into the school kitchen. Aasim and Ruby left the group as well, Willy went back into his room to tend to his businesses, perhaps contemplating on making new bombs, Mitch loved making bombs.
"Hey AJ, Clem. Care for a game of War?"
Louis said with a challenging tone. It was the only game they could play during the apocalypse, but he always managed to make it interesting every time.
"Yes!" AJ smiled and sat at the table, eager to play. Violet joined as well.
"So, what's different this time, Louis?" Clementine asked before she sat down.
"Oh, you know. The person with the highest card wins and gets to ask everyone else a question." Louis shuffled the cards before putting the stack in the middle of the four.
"Greeeaat. The game never changes..." Violet rolled her eyes and him in which he replied:
"Same as you, Vi." He said with a dramatic tone and winked at her. Violet punched him on the shoulder while chuckling. They were all ready to play and took one card each.

Louis' grin disappeared slowly when he realized his card was the lowest of the round and AJ's the highest!
"Haha! I win!" Louis smiled at him.
"So, what's your question, AJ?" AJ thought for a long while, almost to the point where he was interrupted by Louis randomly whistling a series of tunes like he did the first time  Clementine played the game.
"Uhh, how was... your day?" The question caught everyone by surprise, and they laughed.
"AJ, you can ask any question you want to, and you ask how our day was?" Clementine questioned him.
"It's just a question." He replied to her. When they finished laughing, Violet was the first one to answer.
"Mine was okay. Louis and I spend our day discussing the plans for the school."
"My days are always good." Louis smirked at them.
"The days have been good. After we got rid of the raiders, I have been able to relax and sleep without having to worry about a single thing." Clementine added as she placed the card in a new stack.
