It'd been around a year and Sasha and I were on and off, mainly because I was in Europe all the time for the case due to the lack of any leads or a fake lead being discovered. Yet I still loved her even when we didn't talk, I tried to call her but she never picked up, at first I knew she was busy because she would call me back when she saw my call but for the past month she hadn't been calling back at all... but I still kept trying until she called me an a Saturday we had been talking for around an hour when she brought it up "Hey, I got a girlfriend, Is that okay with you?" holding back tears, I responded with "I'm happy for you!" after that the conversation went dead and I hung up on her... after that, we still said good morning and goodnight, but never "I love you!" I wanted to but I knew that she had a girlfriend so I didn't... after that we became distant and she stopped picking me up from the airport, we stopped talking other than in group chats, so it seemed like we were strangers again. Though I did still meet Vanessa whenever I went to Europe. At that point, I started to bury myself in work like I used to, but this time I wasn't kicked out of the office. Though overwhelming myself with work turned out to be a good thing I was able to find the killers' signature and a link between victims! At eleven at night, I woke all of the investigators up for a meeting, let's just say they were more than pissed... once I arrived they were all sitting there waiting, this was the first time I'd seen them in casual clothing. Once I showed them what I found they started talking to their media advisers and their teams, I felt a bit awkward sitting there because I was the only one without a team to advise, that was due to me being a small FBI profiler I wasn't the head of the unit so I was just sitting there alone... the next morning was worse because when the head did find out he was furious that I had left without permission nor did I tell him I was leaving, but at least I only got screamed at over the phone and by the time he'd landed he was calm. After showing him my evidence he was quick to call our media adviser and the rest of the team, I was more of the black sheep of the team because I was desensitized of dead bodies when I was young and everyone reacted like anyone would shocked, even though they remained calm when seeing them it still gave them nightmares and so on but for me I knew they all thought I was insane...

The day after the news came out I got a call from Vanessa asking if I was alright and so on, I told her I was fine and not to worry. When the team showed up they gave me the look of "Why were we not called?" but that changed when the head walked in with the evidence and explained it to them, our media adviser went to go talk to American press and the "Team" tried to leave and talk to the other investigators but oddly enough the head told them him and I were the only ones allowed to talk to them. After he left the room "Jackson" the more harsh one in our group asked me "What did you do this time blaze?",
"Nothing, I just did my job, unlike you"
"Are you saying I don't know how to do my job?"
"No, I'm saying you don't do it"
That was when he lunged at me, though for our line of work we were trained to see when someone was going to do that so he must've wanted me to know what he was going to do that... the rest of the team stopped him and held him back, I just stood there I was no tattle tale but they just looked at me clearly pissed off. We stood there for maybe five minutes until the head burst in to tell me they found a suspect, I grabbed my bag and dashed out the door just following the international team.
