It was at that exact moment that I rolled my eyes at Brody. I mean, pretty much anyone can sense the 'but' coming up. If we're being totally honest, I've kind of mastered the art of buts over the years.
"I know what you're going to say next-"
"...of a singer?! you knew that I was going to say that you were one heck of a singer?!" He chuckled quietly to himself.
"Haha...thanks. But no. I meant the But. I know exactly how this is going to end, and I don't want to deal with another rejection."
"Ginny- I... Dang. Was I that obvious? I wasn't trying to hurt your feelings. You really are an amazing girl. And one day you're going to find a guy that gives as much love as you put out- and maybe then some. I just- well it's just that I can't see that being us, you know? I don't think the spark was there. I hope we run into each other again though. We can do some catching up! I'll uh, I'll see you around Ginny."

And just like that, he was gone. No hug, no leaving room for me to say something... not even a why. And even though I got home last night and told myself I wouldn't cry... I did. Not only that, but I pulled out the Rocky Road ice cream and turned on yet another Hallmark movie.
To be honest... I'm not feeling much better, but life has to go on, you know? It's a great start to my 22nd birthday, isn't it! Hahaha.
