"Awe, Skye. I can't believe you're graduating. I'm so proud of you." said my mother, on the verge of tears.

"I know mom, but I have to go. I'll see you when you get there." I replied with a smile, as I turned toward the door.

"Okay. Bye honey." She replied as I exited our little cottage and walked down the drive toward my beat-up, old, silver civic.

"See you soon!" I hollered, as I got in my car and backed down the driveway, and drove off. I glanced back to see my mother standing there, in the driveway, waving goodbye.

My name is Skye Jackson. Today is my graduation day, it's also the day I meet my destiny. Because today I leave for Paris, I'm not going to find love (heaven knows I've had enough of that), but rather my purpose, my meaning. My mother doesn't know why I chose Paris, but I have my reasons. She thinks it's because that's where she and my dad met. And it is, but that's not the only reason. And this graduation ceremony is the only thing standing between me and my 5pm flight. I just hope I can survive these last few moments of high school misery before I can leave it all behind for good.
