It was only a few weeks later that Daisy came face to face with the powdery white lines once again. This time Ella and Olivia were with her.
"Ella look," Daisy said, clutching her friends arm and flicking her chin towards the sticky wooden bar littered with half empty Bud Lite cans. Ella and Daisy watched as some random guy divided the pile of cocaine in to five, long, thin lines.
"Are they doing coke?" Ella whispered, her eyes glued to the scene before her. Daisy gave her friend a sarcastic look.
"No," Daisy drawled. "They're about to snort powdered sugar. Yes, they're doing coke," she said a little to sarcastically.
"What crawled up your ass tonight?" Ella snapped, crossing her arms and glaring at her. Daisy sighed. She had gotten dragged to yet another party in one of the neighboring towns. The three of them were at a run down house, where some guy their age was living by himself. They only knew two other people at the party which made the whole thing a drag. Daisy didn't like meeting new people or making small talk, especially with crowds like this one.
"Sorry El," Daisy said, as an attempt at an apology.
"If I get you some coke will you be less of a bitch?" Ella asked, glancing over at the bar and ignoring the glare Daisy shot her.
"No."
"Why? I thought it made you social."
"Well, yeah but..." Daisy trailed off her eyes flicking between the bar and Ella. She didn't know what to say.Ella had been shocked and against Daisy's newest walk on the wild side. She had been worried about Daisy about it being laced with something or Daisy getting addicted to the drug. And now, here Ella was offering to get Daisy a line of coke just so she wouldn't be such a buzz kill. "Are you going to do it too?"
"No. You can do it," Ella said, in an almost encouraging way.
"I thought you didn't condone my newest drug habit," Daisy followed Ella trying to figure out what was going on. Daisy had been completely blindsided when Ella offered to get her a line.
"I thought about it and I know you. You don't have an addictive personality. You won't get lost like Aiden," Ella shrugged as she approached the bar. Daisy tugged on Ellas elbow whispering in her ear, begging her to stop.
"Hi. Can my friend do a line with you?" Ella asked, with a smile gesturing to Daisy. She didn't have much of an interest in doing the drug when it was coming from strangers. She had only tried it with her brother because she trusted him. He always rambled on about how she shouldn't get drugs from anyone other than him, that he was looking out for her by buying her weed, booze, and offering her lines. They had a fucked up relationship but it was all she knew.
"Uh. Yeah. I guess," One of them said as he cut a line for Daisy. "Do you want one too?" He asked Ella, a bored look on his long face.
"No. Just one for her," she said. Ella stood by Daisy's side as she tilted her head down, pressing a finger against her left nostril and inhaled the drug. Daisy smiled at the man and muttered her thanks while she grabbed her friend's arm and dragged her toward the beer pong table in the other room. They sat down on the broken couch, "Gold Digger" by Kanye West blasting from the speaker beside them.
"Wow. That sucked," Daisy said, scrunching up her nose as a cloud of cigarette smoke assaulted her, coving her in the strong smell.
"What do you mean?" Ella asked, watching Daisy with an intrigued look.
"It was low quality stuff."
"How can you tell? You've only done it once before," Ella asked, leaning forward as her eyes followed Olivia, who was playing beer pong with their friend Timmy.
