You sat by MJ as the recorded video of Captain America dragged on, reading over her shoulder and actually finding some interest in her book "The Human Bondage"
"Do you know him too?" You overheard Ned and Peter's conversation and lost some interest in the book
"Yeah, we met, stole his shield." Peter bragged to Ned, you snickered behind the two as Peter turned around and gave you a playful look basically meaning 'shut up' which you just rolled your eyes at
"...Today my good friend, your teacher, will conduct the Captain America Fitness Challenge" Captain America finally finished and the coach blew his whistle signaling for you to pair up. Ned and Peter, of course, was a duo as you went with MJ.
"So this is basically an updated version of the Fitness gram?" You asked MJ as she did an MJ version of situps by laying down and raising her book up and down reading it while you sat there keeping her feet on the ground
"Yeah, I kind of miss the calming monotone voice that brought dread to everyone," MJ replied and as you nodded along saying 'true, true' she continued on mimicking his voice, "The FitnessGram Pacer Test is a multistage aerobic capacity test that progressively gets more difficult as it continues..." which sent you into a fit of laughter
You were rudely interrupted when "PETER KNOWS SPIDERMAN!"
MJ set her book down and sat Indian style next to you as you sighed a watched the scene unfold and as Peter desperately tried to cover Ned's statement up.
"Uh, no I don't! I don't, I- I mean-" Peter scrambled for words as he stood up to address the class and Liz and Ned did he best to help him out by saying that they were friends when Flash intervened
"Yeah, like Coach Wilson and Captain America are friends, huh?" He laughed not buying a thing the two of them said
"The two of us met him a couple of times," You helped Peter out, "Through the Stark Internship." You stood next to him putting your hand on his shoulder to reassure him a little
"And we're not really supposed to talk about it!" Peter fussed at Ned
"Well isn't that awesome, the New Girl also goes to the so-called 'Stark Internship'! How much did he pay you to actually go along with this?" Flash mocked the two of you,
"He didn't have to cause its the truth," You told Flash
"You know what would be great then? If you're telling the truth go ahead and invite Spider-Man to Liz's party!"
"Yeah, um. I'm having a few people over tonight. You guys are more than welcome to come." Liz awkwardly said
"It will be totally dope," Flash swung his arms around the two of you resting his head on yall's shoulders, "And we can see if you two are telling the truth!"
"It's okay, we know Peter is way to busy to busy for parties anyway so..." Liz pressured Peter more
(now rewatching that she did kind of a bitch move right there pressuring him into going while he was clearly uncomfortable with Flash pestering him and everybody watching and she just rolled her eyes and used that voice like - Ah!)
thank you for coming to my ted talk, now back to the story
"Don't worry the two phony's will make it" He squeezed yours and Peters arms and then let go and walked off when the bell rang dismissing class
the two of you immediately turned around towards Ned
"What are you doing!" Peter stressed at Ned
"Helping you out!" He replied
You scoffed "And how exactly did that help out there Ned?"
"Did you not hear her? Liz has a crush on you!"
You turned away from the conversation and walked back over to MJ, "You do the Stark Internship too huh?" She asked and she tucked her book under her arm
"Yeah, it's not such a big deal though..." You tried to say
"Well, at least I don't have to bring you as a plus one now," MJ shrugged
"Wait, you already have an invitation?" You asked her
"No, I'm just gonna show up anyways," MJ replied, the two of you laughing as you exited the gym

but hey the actions going to start soon after the Party
(you may or may not get drunk I haven't decided yet)
