"Belle, Beast, and Ben we have an announcement to make, well actually Mal does but I wanted to do this with her. You know for some moral support". Evie said as Ben and his parents awaited the announcement in the royal room at Auradon Prep.
I nervously walked over to them and sighed. "Due to some news that I've received I decided that we should... bump the wedding day up". I explained and sighed as I looked to Evie and then back to Ben and his parents.
"Bump the wedding day? Mal we just got engaged"! Ben exclaimed as he walked over to me and held my shoulders. "Ben, Please, it's for a very good reason". I pled and looked at Ben as my eyes welled up in tears. "Mal, Mal, Mal what is it, why do you want to bump the wedding day up"? Ben asked as he rubbed my shoulders. I sighed and looked into his eyes. "My dad, Hades, is dying and it would mean everything to me if he were here to see me get married and walk me down the aisle, to give me away". I explained.
"Mal, I'm so sorry". Ben sighed and wrapped his arms around me and kissed my forehead. "I love you Mal, and I would do anything for you". Ben said and looked over to his parents and shifted his position over to them. "Mom and Dad, can we bump our wedding day up"? Ben asked. "Ben, this is up to you and Mal but always remember is that we will support you no matter what your decision is". Belle added and turned to Ben and myself but mostly me.
"Mal, may I ask you about what happened to your dad"? Belle asked me with concern. I looked at Belle and tried to keep my composure. "He's dying, I'm not sure how much longer he has left and I just wanted him to be a part of my big day". I sighed
"Mal, I'm so sorry, that must have been horrible to hear". Belle sighed "It was, he's just now coming back into my life". I added. "Well Mal, I totally understand if you want to push your wedding day up, you have my blessing". Belle explained.
"Well what are we waiting for? Let's get to planning! And you are totes letting me design your wedding dress". Evie exclaimed. Suddenly, a sound came from the door and I turned around to find my dad at the door.
"Dad"? I asked confused at why he was here. "How is my Mal"? He asked me. "Um fine, why did you come to Auradon"? I asked still confused. "Well you did lift the barrier didn't you"? He asked. "Yes, I did but what brings you here". I asked. "Can't I see my daughter"? He pressed. "Um...well since we're in the middle of planning a wedding can I get your measurements? I'm totes designing your tuxedo". Evie butted in "Evie, this really isn't the time" I sighed and looked to Ben. "Don't look at me Mal, he's your father". Ben shrugged.
"Mal, I'm not letting you go". Hades coughed.
"Dad, I'm not going anywhere I'm just getting married". I tried to explain to him that I was I only getting married not moving across the world. But he was so dead-set on coming to Auradon unannounced.
"Mr. Hades, I mean, father in law, or whatever you wish me to call you it would mean the world to your daughter if you were a part of her big day, you know the things that fathers do they walk their daughters down the aisle" Ben nervously explains to Hades.
"You don't say King Benjamin, why else do you think I came"? Hades scoffed "For tea and crumpets"? Hades asked dripping with irony. "Dad, please this isn't the time". Mal scowled. "Oh come on now, I'm just giving your man here a hard time. Of course I want to walk her down the aisle". Hades laughs devilishly as he looked to me.
"So when is the big day"? My dad asked me as I looked back to him. "Soon". I replied nervously as I didn't know a definite answer. "Soon? Pppfftt that doesn't tell me anything. I'm dying by the day. I need a date". Hades added.
"Ahem, I'm figuring that all out. Don't you worry, I will be planning everything and definitely designing your tuxedo". Evie butted in again as she slightly tapped Hades with her pen, before the pen hit him it was quickly swatted away and it hit the floor. "Oh my, I'm sorry". Evie gasped. "No need to be sorry mortal, you never touch a god. Ever". Hades warned Evie.
I quietly walked over to Evie and whisked her away from my father and then looked at him angrily. "Dad, please". I begged him to stop. "Mal, I am a God whether I'm in the Isle or in Auradon nothing is changing that. Ever". Hades explains.
