CHAPTER ELEVEN.

"What do you mean you're going out tonight?" My mother asked from her spot on my bed.

"I mean I am going out into the Urban environment and to a social gathering with a person, whose company I enjoy and want to be social with. Does that clear that up for you?" I asked my voice dripping with sarcasm, ever since that night I came back from paintball Ryder and my parents embarrassed me, my mum has been on my back 24/7 asking where I'm going and who I'm with and it's getting on my last nerve.

"Don't be rude! And who may this person be?" She asked crossing her arm over her chest and trying to be strict.

"A friend who happens to be of the male gender!" I shot back; I really don't want to go into the details of my date with Ryder tonight.

"And does with male friend live next door?" she asked gesturing to my window and in the direction of Ryder's house.

"They might, but just a while ago you and dad proved yourselves too fragile and unfit to know those details or do I have to remind you of your psychotic snap you had when Ryder drove me home?" I was never going to let them live that down. Ever.

"We already apologised for that, we were only protecting you?" She stood up and came to stand next to me while I put the finishing touches on my makeup.

"Let's just not talk about it anymore okay? I have to go! I'll be home later tonight okay? Okay" I just needed to shut this conversation down before I was late for my date before my mum flipped her crazy switch.

"Fine but call or text me when you're leaving the place wherever he is taking you" She replied as I headed out of my room and towards the stairs.

"I told you, he's taking me ice skating I thought my outfit would have been a dead give away?" I said and gestured to my outfit, I was wearing black skinny jeans with just a pair of plain black Vans and I had an electric blue peplum jacket with two rows of black buttons of the front, it ended just at the top of my thighs. I had my hair tied up in a high pony tail and my hair had been loosely curled and fluffed so it was a messy curly high pony tail that went to the middle of my back and I just had my usual makeup on nothing to flashy or exciting.

"You're going ice skating?" My dad chimed in as he popped his head out from the kitchen, why must this house be so big that it echo's?

"Yes I am" I tried to sound confident but truth is I am so nervous about going tonight, what if I fall over and break something or lose a tooth?

"Oh okay, do you want your mouth guard?" My dad asking before he burst out laughing.

"Dad! Shut up! That was one time!" I whined as he continued laughing. When I was 7 I went to an ice skating party and I was so scared of falling over so the people at the rink said that I could wear elbow pads and knee and shin pads for safety, and so I did but I was to scared of falling on my face so my parents bought me a fluorescent pink mouth guard to protect my teeth and now they won't let me forget it.

"You're right honey it was one time you won't need your fluorescent pink mouth guard this time I'm sure" My mum joined in trying to defuse the bomb of embarrassment by dad had just set off.

"Yeah maybe you could get a green one this time!" My dad managed to get out between laughing and gasping, he was bent over and was even slapping his knee trying to get a grip of himself.

"You know parents are supposed to boost their children's ego not destroy it!" I yelled at him.

"Yeah but honey, you're not a normal kid and we're not normal parents" My mum said from behind me, she was grinning and trying not to laugh.
