Two days after Bio left, Nathan was very lonely and bored. He was lying down on his bed on the second floor, wondering if he should go outside for some fresh air. Nathan had no power and his light source was candles he also had dark curtains so the dead didn't see him walking around the house. All of a sudden it was dead silent, no moaning, no car alarms, and no living dead around his street. The silence was broken by screaming, it sounded like a man and a woman. Nathan jumped out of his bed almost running into his cabinet; he ran to the window and peaked out; what he saw was heart breaking. There was a man trying to pull his wife away from the dead feasting on her stomach. Nathan asked himself "should I?" he then ran, grabbed his gun, and nearly jumped his entire staircase to get to the front door. He opened it and yelled "over here, run I'll cover you!" The man was still trying to help the wife so he didn't listen. Nathan yelled again "she's dead, forget her!" The man turned and ran over to Nathan. As soon as the man ran towards him Nathan noticed he had forgotten about his daughter that was crying right next to her mom. Nathan walked over shooting any of the dead trying to kill the girl. When he got to the crying little girl he picked her up and ran to the door, it was locked from the inside! The man had just closed the door on his savior and his own daughter. Nathan quickly turned around and came face to face with the ugliest man he had ever seen. He had one eye, his skin wasn't even on his face, it was a just a bloody skull with skin holding up his neck. Nathan did not hesitate to kick him to the ground and run to the back door of the house, luckily he happened to have the key in his pocket to open the door. He quickly put the key in, turned the door knob, and ran in closing the door behind him. He locked the door, put the girl down and told her to go in his parent's room that was ahead on the left. She listened without hesitation and followed his directions. He ran around looking for the girl's father, but couldn't find him in the first floor. He ran to the second floor and found him smiling on the stairway. Nathan said "I just saved you and your daughter's life and you locked us out!" "What the hell is your problem?" The man frowned in a quick second and started approaching him. Nathan told him to back off, but he kept walking closer and closer. Nathan was full of anger for being locked out, so he shot him in the leg and as angry as he was, he dragged the man out the back door and rolled him outside. He told the man to drag himself as fast as he can. The man was terrified and crawled away from the dead as fast as he could. The dead didn't see Nathan go in the house, so they all followed the dead man. From his window Nathan watched the dead clear his lawn, leaving it quiet. He had forgotten about the little girl so he ran to the room and opened the door. The little girl came out crying and hugged him; he picked her up and brought her to his room. He asked her "are you hungry?" She replied with a no and fell right to sleep when Nathan laid her down on the bed. He felt responsible for her since he killed her psychotic father. He did save their lives, in an inaccurate way. Nathan pulled up a computer chair and sat by the sleeping girl. He was bored so he started to push himself around the room in the rolling chair. Nathan was actually having fun, even if he just finished shooting a man and left him for dead. Nathan pushed himself of the wall and instead of rolling, the chair tipped over and he hit his head on his dresser. The dresser was moving around about to fall and the machine that Nathan number two gave him fell on his stomach. "Damn it" he said loudly. The girl woke up and looked at him with her eyes half closed and told him "that's a bad word!", Nathan stood up as quick as he could and asked her if she was okay. She nodded her head and smiled "thank you" she said. Nathan asked her for her name, she replied "Vanessa" "what's yours?" Nathan said "that's a pretty name and my name is Nathan" the girl didn't know how to compliment on his name so she said "your name is pretty too". Nathan and Vanessa started to laugh, but the laughter stopped when Vanessa asked for her father. Nathan didn't want to tell her that he just murdered him, even if it was for his and her safety. He quickly answered "he took all the dead with him, saving our lives". He felt bad, but technically he didn't lie to her, he just didn't say everything. Vanessa looked at Nathan and didn't ever cry, she was still happy. "He was really mean to me, I didn't like him" she said. Now Nathan felt a little better about killing him. Nathan asked "are you hungry?" "Yes" she said at the speed of sound. Nathan started to leave the room and she followed, they got to the kitchen and he poured a bowl of cereal. She ate it so fast that Nathan didn't get to pour his yet. "You want more?" "Yes please" she answered. He poured more and she started to eat again but this time she didn't eat it faster than a hungry hungry hippo. "How old are you?" Nathan said, "Seven almost eight" "when is your birthday?" "In June six!" Nathan noticed that was this week so he decided to look around the house for a present. He looked in the basement but found nothing, but he did find his older sisters pink handle katana and three of his and his brother's metal baseball bats. He brought those up and put them in his room, and then he ran to his mother's room and looked in her dresser for jewelry. He found a cute gold necklace with a heart on it, "I'm sure mom won't be too mad for giving this away". He put it in a little box ran upstairs again and hid it in his closet. Vanessa caught him leaving the closet and stared him down, "what are you doing?" She asked, "I'm looking for stuff" Nathan said calmly. Vanessa opened the closet door and started helping Nathan; he told her he would be right back because he was going to put the bowls away. Minutes passed and Nathan walked up to his room he could not believe what had just happened! Vanessa found Nathan's hidden box of condoms and blew them up like balloons. Vanessa don't play with those balloons they aren't mine." Vanessa apologized and gave them back. Nathan as nice as he was he let her keep the ones that were balloons. He was dying of laughter inside but didn't want to show it because he would have to explain to her. He picked up the chair that had fell over earlier and looked at the machine Bio gave him. He picked it up and asked himself "why did he give me this?" "Maybe he wanted me to keep testing myself". Nathan looked at Vanessa and said "I can try it on her!" Nathan walked up and said "Vanessa I need to take a blood sample" "NO" she said very loud. "I need to it for your own good; please you have to trust me I don't want to hurt you in any way" "okay make it quick please". Nathan took her finger and took a little bit of blood; it was simple, only because Bio wrote the instructions on a sticky note. They waited about two minutes and wen the results came up he couldn't believe what he saw.
