The machine said negative, she wasn't infected. The bio suits said it was airborne; maybe it was different for children, or maybe for some people. Nathan was thinking of getting her to safety, but that meant leaving the state with dead everywhere, plus lack of food, water, and gas for the car. They would have to wait till they are settled in, so he didn't worry too much. Vanessa asked him "what is that for?" He said "to see if you are sick" "am I sick?" "No you're not". Vanessa smiled and asked him "are you sick?" Nathan took a sample of his blood and still no luck, it was positive. "No I'm not sick either" he said. "That's good, maybe one day we can go somewhere better" said Vanessa. Nathan nodded and all of a sudden it started raining really hard, like a storm. Nathan didn't have much water left in his house since the water pipes probably bursted. He decided to go outside and put big buckets so they fill up overnight. He took his gun and a baseball bat then grabbed three big buckets and headed out the back door. Nathan looked around for any walking corpses; luckily he did not see any. It was raining really hard so he needed to move fast. He ran outside and put the buckets in a corner on the outside of the house so they didn't tip over. As he turned to go back and get more buckets he was being stalked by three undead men. Nathan took his bat and swung at one of their heads, he cracked the man's skull very easily. The other two approached slowly because of the rains power. After thinking everything was going to be okay, Nathan headed for the door, but before he could open it he started to get dizzy and developed poor eye sight. He collapsed in the middle of the storm with two undead right beside him. Soon enough Nathan woke up; his eyes would only let him see anything but darkness. He heard this voice calling out to him, over and over. He wondered who was calling him; maybe it was his mom he thought. The voice started to fade away but soon he realized if he was going to die now the little seven year old girl will starve to death because he didn't want to wake up. Nathan's eyesight cleared up and he saw Vanessa looking at him with puppy dog eyes, he got up and smiled at her. "Did you drag me in the house" he said Vanessa nodded and said "are you okay? Are you hurt? Are you sick?" Nathan stood up and said "yes I'm okay mom". They both started to laugh and they headed upstairs to sleep. Nathan woke up to a noise downstairs and got up to pick up his gun and his sister's sword. As he walked down the stairs they creaked loudly, but he still was being quiet. As he got down to the last step, a man pointed a gun at him and said "we meet again". Nathan was confused of who he was and asked who it was. He said "you're not going to duck down and dodge my bullet this time". Nathan was shocked; it was the guy that shot at him in the school. "Look man! Why the hell do you want to shoot me so damn bad? Leave me alone!" The man started laughing and told him "you're just like them, a walking corpse but you just don't want to eat people, yet". Nathan was thinking of taking the gun away but the man was too big and probably trained very well. Nathan noticed the Vanessa at the top of the stairs looking at them! She had a bat in her hand and she was slowly walking down the stairs. The stairs creaked and the man looked up. A shot was fired and silence filled the room. Nathan and the man looked at each other for a moment and the man fell on the ground while blood showered down his mouth like a red water fall. Nathan put the gun down and Vanessa ran to Nathan, giving him a big hug. "It's okay, don't worry" Vanessa was a strong girl she didn't even shed a tear. Nathan told her to go up to the room and sleep while he cleaned the mess.
