A cool breeze dances across my skin as I search the deep purple night sky that suddenly fades into a dark peach. I try to think of anything else but that sound. The way the leaves slowly dance through the sky when the wind gently blows or the faces of the pumpkins the neighbors like to put out, anything just anything but her sobs.
I can still hear them as if she is right next to me like a broken record, it plays through my mind those dreadful whimpers that leave her lips I am sorry I accidentally got my tears on you. I try not to cry I really do but sometimes it's just too difficult. The wall I have built behind my eyes starts to crack and droplets of water slowly start to leak out and I know it's all downhill from there.
I look up to see a plane. I am not sure where it is going. Oh how I wish I could be on that plane, anywhere but here is all I ask. But sadly I am stuck at this house on this porch in this sad little suburb right outside that city in this despicable state but I know in my heart I am meant to be here.
It's so quiet out here at night but if you listen closely you can hear it, the crunch of the leaves the little barks that come from dogs. The rumble of cars in the distance slowly approaching and there light shines on you and you get the feeling as if you've been caught, as if you were doing something wrong. I ask myself, am I doing something wrong?
The image of her tear stained face flashes through my mind and as I try my best to push the image away. I can't help the ache that is in my chest I did that to you. I was wrong, my lovely Luna I am sorry.
