Cecilia P.O.V.
Scott and I grabbed our suitcases then headed out of the airport. I was back home and brought him along with me.
I had texted my mom the night before telling her I was coming home for the weekend and bringing a special guest.
She seemed excited and asked if it was a boy. I told her it was a surprise.
I was excited yet nervous for Scott to meet everyone. This was the first time I was bringing a boy home to meet my parents.
My father never had to deal with the whole boy situation concerning me in high school so it would be interesting seeing his reaction to all this.
We walked out of the airport and I spotted my mother standing by her car parked along the curb.
"There's my mom," I told Scott as I grabbed his hand, leading him over to my mother.
Scott and I walked over to where my mom was.
I let go of Scott's hand and my suitcase handle to give my mother a hug.
"Bean! I'm so happy to have you home," my mother said as she gave me a tight hug.
"It's good to be home," I said as I pulled away.
"Now who is this..." my mother asked as she spotted Scott.
"Mom this is Scott my boyfriend," I said introducing them.
"Very nice to meet you ma'am," Scott said as he held his hand out to my mother.
"Ma'am? Well it seems your parents taught you manners. Come on you two put your stuff in the trunk," my mother said.
"I got it babe. Go ahead and get in the car with your mother," Scott said as he took my suitcase.
I smiled and got in the car with my mother.
As my mother and I got buckled up Scott put the suitcases in the trunk.
"I have to say when you said you were bringing a special guest I really thought it might be Deacon Sharp. You know I keep in touch with his mother and what I know that your father doesn't is that you two are next door neighbors. Now tell me... did you know Deacon lived in that condo building when you asked your father to get you a unit in that building?" my mother asked.
"Maybe but it's not what you think mom. Deacon is and only ever will be a friend. Scott is the one," I smiled.
"Really bean? You feel that strongly about this boy? How long have you two been together? I have so many questions," my mother said.
"All your questions will be answered this weekend," I said.
Scott got in the car then my mom pulled off from the curb.
"So Scott how did you and my daughter meet?" my mother asked.
"You want the truth?" Scott asked.
I turned back and locked eyes with Scott.
"Yes I'd like the truth. Cecilia face forward and do not influence the boy!" my mother scolded.
"Sorry baby.... Ma'am we met in a check out line," Scott said.
"Well that's sweet. What's so wrong with that?" my mother questioned.
"What he's not saying is that I was trying to buy beer with a fake id," I admitted.
My mother pulled up to a red light and hit the break kind of hard.
"Run that by me again Cecilia," my mother said.
