Keith was mad. He couldn't figure out why at first, but he knew he was mad. And it had something to do with Lance. The team had been on a mission to recruit someone for the coalition, and Lance made it a point to flirt with every girl he saw.

"Lance, we're here to try to get another ally for the coalition," Keith reminded him, trying to control his anger. "Not find a date." Lance had only rolled his eyes and kept flirting.

Now they were back in the castle eating dinner, and Lance was bragging about all the girls that were "in to him."

"I'm telling you, Hunk, that one girl with the long purple hair was all over me," Lance said. "She definitely liked me."

"I thought you liked Allura?" Pidge questioned, her head tilted to the side like a confused puppy.

"Not anymore," Lance replied. "I think I was just trying to convince myself I did for some reason."

"Interesting," Hunk chimed in. "So, do you like anyone else?"

"Well-"

"Can we not talk about this now?" Keith interrupted. "Please? I'm just trying to eat dinner." Everyone stared at Keith, startled by his outburst.

"Keith, are you feeling okay?" Shiro asked. "You've seemed off all day."

"I'm fine, Shiro." Keith answered, pushing his chair out and standing up. "And I'm going to my room. Thanks for dinner, Hunk." Then he turned and walked to his room. The room was silent as Keith's footsteps got further away.

"What's his problem?" Lance asked.

~~~A couple hours later~~~
"Hey, Keith?" Lance asked, knocking softly on Keith's bedroom door. "Are you okay, buddy?"
"Go away, Lance." Keith answered.
"Why?" Lance asked, leaning against the wall. "I just want to check up on you, make sure you're doing okay. You seemed pretty upset at dinner."
"I said go away," Keith's voice sounded closer than before, like he was standing right in front of the door on the other side. "You're the reason I'm mad." A wave of confusion and guilt washed over Lance as he thought about what he could've done to make Keith mad.
"Was it something I did?" Lance asked softly. Keith didn't answer, and Lance looked down at the ground, sighing. "It was, wasn't it?"
"What if it was?" Keith replied. "What would you do?"
"I'd stop doing whatever it was," Lance admitted. "I don't want to make you upset. It's bad for the team and it hurts me to see you upset when I know it's my fault." Lance sighed and put his head against the wall. "We're finally getting along and I don't want to ruin that." Silence enveloped the boys for a few seconds until Keith took a breath in and spoke.
"Flirting," he said.
"What?" Lance moved his head to look over at the door.
"Flirting. You flirting made me mad."
"Why? Are you jealous?" Lance asked slowly. "Is it because you don't know how to flirt?" Lance chuckled a little as he talked again. "Oh, that's hilarious!"
"Lance, shut up!" Keith snapped, elbowing the door. "That's not why I'm jealous!" Lance's laughter quickly subsided, feeling Keith's anger through the door.
"Wait, then why are you jealous?"
"It's none of your business, Lance." Keith growled, getting annoyed. "Just drop it."
