I slipped on the dress, wishing I had stockings or something to put under. It was evening, wasn't it chilly? I muttered at myself, cursing my stupidity. I looked in the mirror at my ugly hair and started dragging a brush through it. I hummed the song Help!, as I got ready. I didn't even know half the song. Eventually, the band who wrote it was going to perform it right in front of me. I grabbed some hairspray luckily left over in the bathroom cabinet and teased my hair, trying to make it into a pouf, which was the typical hairstyle to have. I stared at my enlarged head.
Screw it, this wasn't working. I didn't have my hair supplies, or my makeup. I hadn't thought this through at all.
I went into the shower and washed the spray out of my hair. I twisted my wet hair into loose braids so when they dried they'd be slightly wavy. Shoes. I looked at my shoes. They were oxfords, you don't wear those with a dress! I was always so keen on my appearance.
A knock came on the door. "Alice, neighbor!" A baritone voice, which could only be Ringo, called. I walked over barefoot and opened the door. Ringo was there, dressed in his tan Beatle outfit with a pretty lady around my age, who must be his girlfriend. Finally a lady around here.
"Who's the hot chick?" I teased as I pointed at her. She laughed. Ringo smiled.
"This is Maureen. She's me girlfriend. I was wondering if she could stay here for a bit while we get ready?"
"Why," I teased, "Wouldn't you want to see them change?" I winked dramatically and pointed to their door. Maureen laughed.
"I like you," She said.
"That's good. You may be the first person I met today I could actually like too." I announced loudly enough so the boys next door could hear me.
I heard some chuckling and out came half naked John, whipping his shirt around his head.
"Did someone call Captain Lennon!?" I immediately shut my eyes and hoped some random fans would come and take him away from me.
"John, get back!" Ringo attempted to say seriously, but couldn't keep his laughter in.
"Ew, John, hide that fluff of yours." Maureen joked.
"I am Jesus Christ! I have come to save thy Earth!" John called.
Before I could scoff, I felt a pang of dizziness. Oh no. Not again, not now. I had terrible headaches every so often, then I would hallucinate. It freaked out whoever was around me. I blame it on my parents, they were the ones that gave me something that made me like this.
"It's okay, I'm a hero, not a villain," he whispered in my ear. I opened my eyes and he was in my doorway, practically leaning over me, a huge smile plastered on his young yet aged face.I stopped breathing. I didn't know where Ringo or Maureen were. I didn't know where the door was. Time was frozen.
I slowly backed up and he followed me. John shut the door. He winked at me.
"I think you're the one that needs saving tonight..."
------------
"Alice!"
"What! Huh?" I yelled back. I took in my surroundings. Ringo was gone. Maureen was seated on the couch, staring at me with an amused look on her face. John was in the doorway, his shirt in his hands, his smile still there.
"Hmm, maybe," Maureen muttered to herself, nodding her head in thought.
"We should hang out later, Alice. We'll have fun." John winked at me and closed the door behind him.
I shook my head. Did I take anything? I tried to remember all the beverages I drank today, if any of them could've contained some drug. I only drank water and a coffee.
