Camilla:

"Heyyy wake up. Cam!!! Wake up woman! Get your darn butt uppp!!!" Is the first thing I hear when waking up.

"I'm up! I'm up!" I jump up to find Becky standing next to my bed with breakfast in her hand.

"Thought I'd treat you to breakfast. But damn you sleep like the dead. Also work starts in an hour. " She says with a lopsided grin. With that said I jumped up to do my wake up routine that consist of ; brushing my teeth, washing the sleep off and trying to atleast untangle my mane.

After breakfast I rushed to finish.

Today is Saterday. Which means I got work till late tonight.

Mrs Pine usually let's me leave earlier than everyone else saying things like, I got to go home and all but I know she just wants me to spend time with my mom. Mrs Pine knows a little bit about mom and I's situation. Well only the financial part but it works for me since I seem to get a little bit more tips then the others. Which I'm sure is Mrs.Pine's work.

After work I finally arrive home.  But before I enter inside a catch the new boy sitting on his front porch staring at me. Weird...The sight alone gives me butterflies. Something I'm not used to. Shaking my head I go inside. I'm greeted by my mom behind the stove and the best roast chicken smell greets me like a pup greeting it's owner. Wait something doesn't exactly seem right. What is my mom doing home? She's supposed to be at work or something...

"Uhm Heyy mom. Not that I'm not happy you're here but what are you doing home?" I finally say.

"Oh Heyy honey! Yeah I was supposed to be at work but I no longer work there." She says with the biggest smile I've ever seen on my mom's face. I stare at her ,confused and hoping to encourage her to continue. She doesn't. She stares at me expectedly. Sighing I ask :" Well that's great?" I ask more than say.

" Well I have great news . But first let's eat. I got this recipe on the internet and I kind of added more of my own ingredients. I need you to tell me how it tastes. " She says with an excited look on her face.

"Right. I'll be right down then." Confused yet happy seeing mom happy I head upstairs.

I decided to take a shower before dinner. Giving mom enough time to set the table.  And no I didn't leave mom to do it. She insisted saying it's her surprise and she needs to set everything. Her words not mine.

After the shower I came down -in my pajamas , since we're at home and it's late. Mom and I sat in a comfortable silence.

"So... this tastes really good mom. I mean I've always loved your food but this is ...something else." I say meaning each word. Mom has always been a great cook but this is the best yet. I could get used to this. It's like eating a meal from the five star restaurant a few streets away. It's that good.

"Well I'm glad you like it! Now I think it's time for the good news. So.... you know how I used to work at the diner? Turns out Mr. Dave is stepping down. He sold his resurant to a new couple that wanted to take over. The best part is I'm going to manage it since he told them I'm the best in town. I'll be head 'chef' with a pay raise. I'll be getting double the pay and I'll be able to get the holidays bonus. "

"Wow mom that's amazing." I said and thought of jumping up but mom stopped me before I even proceeded with it.

"Yess. But that's not the best part. They're expanding the diner. In a few months we'll be a restaurant. " She said.

I jumped up and started dancing while mom laughed. After a while of just laughing at me she joined me.

The rest of the night mom and I were celebration and talking about the changes we could have. Mom even suggested that I could stop working but I shut the idea down saying I love working. After a while though I agreed to take less hours and removing my double shift.

I am really proud of mom. She's been through so much and yet she's still standing and providing for us both. Mom has been both mom and dad for me. I'm inspired by her. Throughout the night I couldn't help but feel proud of her and the smile she held. This is a moment I may never forget. That smile , it's the most sincere one I've seen in years. I can't help but hope its here to stay.

After mom finally decided to go to bed I sat in the living room and tried not cry out in happiness.

Finally I went to my room but couldn't really sleep . I knew my chances of having an actual peaceful slumber was close to non. Deciding that it's useless I called Becky -who unsurprisingly had her "beauty sleep"- who let out a few curse words before hanging up.

After waiting -patiently- for about a half an hour she finally arrived.

" Pssst. Cam! I'm outside your window. Hello ? Can you hear me?!  Fine I'm leaving. " Speak about dramatic.

"Leaving so soon? Come to the front door you idiot. Oh and I'm pretty sure you woke up the neighbors with not so quiet whispers." I said and in reply she rolled her eyes.

"This girl is no fun." She muttered.
" I can hear you." I said while giving a quick chuckle.
"No shit Sherlock. " was her great reply.

The rest of the night was spent with her talking and me telling her the great news. Some sort of two-man party and lots of laughing took place that night. At around 2am we finally fell asleep.
