Three years. That's how long it has been. Eyes closed I sat on the hard bench facing the beach. The air smelled of salt and something else that can only be described as pure ocean. Seagulls screeched in the distance and the waves crashed into the shore. It's ironic how the roughness of the sea calmed the storm brewing inside of me.
Cold seeped into my jeans chilling me to the bone. I welcomed the frigid wind biting at my cheeks. Stubborn tears fought against the wind leaving trails of heat that lasted for just a second until it was blown away. If only it was as easy as that. If only my sadness could be swept away by the coldness of the wind and the harsh melodies of the sea.
