"This is a terrible idea, Rach."
"Becky, you've complained every mile since we got off the plane and into the car. Please go to sleep." Kelley rolled her eyes and turned her focus from Becky, who was sat in the back seat with Erika and Christen, to Rachel who was driving.
"I think this is a marvellous idea! I love a road trip!" Erika grinned.
"A transatlantic roadtrip." Christen corrected.
"Of course you think this is a marvellous idea, Tymrak! This is the most fun you've had since your wedding night." Kelley huffed and Erika smacked her across the back of the head.
"Will you two please stop?" Becky sighed. "Rach, I really think you need to rethink this."
"It's a bit late for that, Becky. We're already in Glasgow." Rachel muttered.
"Have you actually thought about this? Seriously? You haven't seen...Lee, or anyone since you left 9 years ago. Should you not let them know you're coming instead of just....turning up, unannounced and uninvited?" Christen inputted and Rachel would have forgotten she was there had she not said something.
Rachel sighed. "I already told you. I made a big mistake leaving Lee on our wedding day all those years ago. And there's no time like the present to make things right."
"9 years too late..." Becky muttered and Rachel glared at her through the rearview mirror.
"Are you on my side or not?"
"I'm not picking sides! You left her on your wedding day of all days...and then you went on your honeymoon....alone! If that's not conceited, I don't know what is."
"Put a sock in it, Becky." Rachel sighed again, pulling into the car park of the Barrowlands.
"I think it's a great idea, I love a happy ending." Kelley grinned as they 5 girls got out of the car.
"Before we go anywhere, Kelley please don't be weird to anyone, just act normal." Rachel warned.
"Yes, ma'am." Kelley nodded.
—
Rachel was too nervous to go inside and none of the 4 girls just wanted to turn up, so Rachel was grateful when Erin Cuthbert came outside to wait for more guests to turn up.
"...Rach?"
"Hi, Ez." Rachel smiled at her but her smile faded a little when Erin didn't reciprocate.
"Why are you here?"
"I came to see Lee, obviously."
"There's no obviously about it, you haven't cared about Lee for as long as I can remember."
Rachel sighed, knowing that she was right. "I heard you got made Scotland captain, congratulations."
Erin nodded, "I guess I should go and find Lee."
Rachel nodded and Erin walked back inside, straight towards Ruesha, Denise and Katie who were all standing with glasses of champagne in their hand.
Erin grabbed the glass of champagne from Denise and downed the whole thing in one swing gulp and all three girls turned round to look at her.
"What's wrong with you, ye look as though you've seen a ghost." Denise laughed a little.
"I feel like I've got a serious case of deja vu." Erin muttered.
"Why?" Katie tilted her head.
Erin shook her head, "Have any of you seen Lee?"
"She's over there." Ruesha pointed towards the bar and Erin nodded, breathing in deeply. Erin walked over to Lee, who had a little girl sleeping in her arms.
"Hey, L."
"Ez. What's up?"
"Come outside?" Erin muttered and Lee nodded, following her outside.
Rachel, Becky, Kelley, Erika and Christen's heads shot up as they heard the door shut.
Lee's eyes widened and she practically dropped the little girl into Erin's arms.
"Take Lou inside."
"Lee, it's not worth—" Erin started, but there was no point. Lee was already storming towards Rachel.
"Did anyone else see that little—-" Kelley started,
"She looks like—" Christen continued,
"Rachel." Erika finished.
The girls all took a step back, as Lee approached them. She took one look at Rachel, grabbing her by the shoulders.
"YOU—"
"LEFT—"
"ME—"
"YOU—"
"IGNORANT—"
"COW—-!"
Becky grabbed Lee, pulling her backwards and Christen grabbed Rachel, pulling her in the opposite direction.
"That was mean, Lee." Rachel muttered, shaking Christen off of her.
Lee wiggled her way out of Becky's grasp and took another step towards Rachel, slapping her straight across the face. She turned away and straightened herself up, walking back inside, leaving all the girls in her wake, speechless.
