"Chloe, where are we headed?" Crystal questioned, tilting her head to the side. The two cats were balancing on a thin wall which divided the twoleg dens from the lush pine forest. Crystal was a few tail lengths behind her older sister, but she was sure Chloe didn't have a clue where they were going.

"I've told you this so many times! We're going to find a safe home: no matter how long it takes. Don't be so impatient and stop acting like a kit!" Chloe, a beautiful midnight black cat with stunning green eyes hissed, turning her head on an awkward angle to give her sister, a black and flame-orange patched tortoiseshell  with white socks.

The two cats had resolved that they would find more cats who would take them in, but so far that was proving to be a difficult task. The only cats they had run into were a small gang of street cats, of whom Crystal had tried to steal a mouse- therefore provoking them, but they had been able to beat the skinny and malnourished cats with ease in a fight. Other than that, they hadn't even seen another cat outside seeing as it was the cold and chilling leaf-bare season. the trees were loosing their leaves and the clouds became thicker, threatening to burst at any moment.

"You forget! I am a kit, Chloe! But haven't we been trying to do that for the last moon and a half? Face it! We just aren't destined to find a home!" Crystal complained to her sister, exaggeratedly, rolling her eyes for effect.

"Your technically only going to be a kit for another quarter moon- and would you stop being so overdramatic? We need to find a permanent home rather than all this wandering, Crystal!" Chloe was beginning to become impatient with her annoying sister, "plus," she added more quietly, looking at the ground, "its the last thing mother told me to do," although Crystal did have a point. The two cats had been trying to find a home for almost two moons now. Maybe fate just wasn't on their side, But Chloe was determined to fulfil her mothers last wish.

"Its not like were in any danger, Chloe," Crystal stated, matter-of-factly.

"Ugh! How are you so ignorant? Of course we're in danger! If you think we're so safe, why don't you find fresh kill and be helpful for once!," her sister growled, irritated.

"Well maybe I will!" yelled Crystal, hissing at her sister. She wasn't about to let this annoying she-cat tell her what to do! She did what she pleased when she pleased and no cat could tell her otherwise.

"Fine!" Chloe shouted, almost nose to nose with Crystal, snarling. This annoying kit was getting the better of her, and she didn't know how to bite back.

Crystal jumped onto the forest side of the fence, her paws making a soft sound as they collided with the leaf litter below. Chloe watched her Sister storm off, head held high, tail fluffed out and anger blazing in her emerald eyes.

While Crystal was headstrong and confident, her sister was sensible and logical: not caught up in the childish arguments of kits. Though she was only a moon older than Crystal- she was a good few tail lengths more mature than the misbehaved tortoiseshell kit.

But this was different: she was usually so calm and collected, but Crystal really pushed her off the edge sometimes. She had always had to be the strong one, when her mother had died, she had taken Crystal under her paw. Yet that kit didn't realise how lucky she was to have her sister to protect her. She didn't realise how much Chloe had been through and took her older sister for granted.

Crystal walked through the forest in a huff. Why did Chloe always treat her like a newborn kit? She could look after herself. She was always treated as the little tiny kitten, yet she was fierce and she was bold. She knew her place and she wasn't going to let that pesky Chloe tell her what to do. Who did she think she was? She clearly thought she was so much better than her little sister.

As she was thinking all of this to herself, she heard a strange noise coming from her right. Her ears stood up and she slowly lowered herself into a menacing pouncing position. But, as quickly as it had come, the noise just stopped...

"Strange," Crystal muttered, relaxing from her pouncing position slightly so that she could look around.

Warily, She carried on through the woods, stalking low to the ground and keeping her senses alert incase of danger.

Just then she saw something emerge from the green shrubbery. It was a twoleg! It was wearing a strange white rubbery suit and an alien-like mask. The thing that concerned her most was what it was holding. A net. They were trying to catch her!

Her ears flattened as Crystal took no time in scrambling backwards against the fence until she was completely surrounded by twolegs. From the bushes and shrubbery, more alien-like twolegs had appeared. Some, she noticed, were holding tiny darts which they aimed at her.

Suddenly, a loud meow came from on top of the fence, and Crystal looked up to see Chloe jump, with her paws outstretched, towards the twoleg. She landed on its mask and she dug her sharp claws in. The unsuspecting twoleg cried out and threw Chloe off before all of them retreated back into the forest.

"Chloe! I'm so glad I found you! We have to go! The twolegs with the nets are chasing us!" Crystal exclaimed, jumping to her paws.

"Yeah, no kidding!" Chloe panted, kneeling on her front legs to try and regain her breath.

Suddenly, Crystal saw a flash of white...

"There!"

"Run!"
