I opened my eyes and instantly starting shaking. Where was I? Where did he take me? I can't see, it was completely dark. I think I am blindfolded because I can see a little bit of light, like when you close your eyes while the sun is shining on your face
and you can see the red tint. I moved my hands around to feel around me and realized I was tied to a metal chair. It is freezing in this room and the smell of cleaning chemicals filled my nostrils. I just cried, I was so scared. Where am I? What will happen to me? Why didn't I yell? Thoughts of my family rushed into my head, do they know I'm gone? Will they find me? My thoughts were interrupted when I heard a loud noise, it sounded like an old, heavy door opening. I heard someone coming down the stairs, and walking towards me. "Are you awake rude child?", he grabbed my arm tightly and shook me. "Leave me alone!!" I screamed. He smacked my cheek and told me he hated screamers and no one would hear me.He ripped the blindfold off my face and my eyes adjusted to the bright light. I was crying so hard to it took a few minutes to blink the tears away. I was in a basement with nothing in it. I saw the man who followed me in his car, crouching over me. He had an evil smirk across his face. I asked him what he was going to do to me and his response was "That will be ultimately up to you Lola". I shook at his response. "Lo..l..a?" I said in a stuttering voice. "My name is Ava". In a matter of seconds, his heavy hand made contact with my face. "Your name is Lola and that will be the only way you are addressed, are we clear?". In fear of being hit again, I unwillingly shook my head yes. "Good, with that attitude, we will be very happy together". I was so confused, what did he mean by that? Will he kill me? Will my family look for me?
The scary man told me to address him as Papa or Sir. I didn't want to address him at all but I knew I had to if I didn't want get hurt again. "Listen closely Lola, I am going to untie you, and walk you to my van. If you try anything, you will regret it. Do you understand?" I shook my head in agreement. He grabbed and shook me and told me to use my words. "Yes I understand". I kept wondering where we were going. He duct taped my mouth and put the blindfold back on me and then untied me. He grabbed my arm and got me out of the chair. He led the way, up the stairs and it was only a short walk from the top of the stairs to the front door. He held onto my right arm tightly as I heard him locking the door as we left. We walked down the steps and he guided me to his vehicle. I was assuming it was a van because the step up was high and there was a lot of room where he placed me. I wondered what he did with the car he kidnapped me in. Before he got out, he tied my hands back up behind my back and got into the front seat. We began driving and drove for about two hours before I drifted off to sleep. I was awoken when the van started to shake, it felt like we were on an unleveled, gravel road. We were on this road for about 3 minutes before we came to a stop.
He turned off the engine and opened the back door. Still blindfolded, he helped me out and led me up the steps into this mysterious place. He led me into a room and sat me on the bed and chained me to the bed before removing the blindfold and duct tape. Again, it took my eyes a few minutes to adjust. When they finally did, I studied the room. It was a small room with a bed, no windows, and a small table across the room with a picture of the man and a young girl sitting on it. The walls had weird material on them that I hadn't seen before and the wooden floors were stained and scratched. I looked at the man desperately. "Whats on the walls?" I was very curious. He chuckled, "Ah darling, I made them soundproof". I began to cry and pray to God.
The man walked out of the room and I sat there zoned out in shock of what was happening to me. A few moments later, he came back with a hot pocket, a glass of water, and a bucket. He put the food in front me and I was so hungry, I wasn't going to deny his offer. I ate my food quickly. I was so tired, it had to be past midnight. The man set the bucket down right next to the bed and told me if I needed to use the bathroom, to use the bucket. He told me goodnight and he'd see me in the morning. I was kind of relieved, I didn't want his company anymore. When he left the room, I heard him lock three locks on the other side of the door. I used the bucket and climbed into bed. I filled my thoughts with my family and my best friend and cried my self to sleep because sleep was my only escape.
