Hey guys - I FINALLY MADE IT TO THE END OF THIS STORY AHHH!!! Thank you sooooo much to everyone who has patiently waited for the slow chapters, I know it took me ages to finish, but I hope you have enjoyed "Whispers Beneath The Waves" and that you like the ending :) I have loved sharing Lennon, Kye and the mystical magic of Melwyn Bay with you all, it means so much to know so many of you have been reading. I feel like one day I may return to these characters as there is still a lot more in their future to explore...!

Part of the reason I have been so slow is that I have been working on 2 major new story projects alongside this one. The first is a brand new New Adult story that I plan to start posting up at the end of the year. It's called "Sephy Stevens: Chapter 1" and follows a girl with anxiety who works at a book shop. It is very different to my previous stories, but if you like observational, feminist humour around the topics of sex, love, friendship, mental health and bodily functions (lolz) then it might appeal to you. It is also my first story to feature a drag queen character, woop!

The second story I have been working on is a co-written music-themed YA book which has been 3 years in the making and is currently being considered by a real-life literary agent. My project partner and I were given a huge word count edit to complete in order for her to take it to the next stage and doing that had to take priority over everything else. We managed to hit the target and we are now waiting for news on whether she will represent us or not. I don't know what will happen, but I tried my very best and I feel I have never been closer to my author dreams coming true. I'll keep you posted...!

Anyway, I just wanted to explain the reason for my long delay. It is not because I am falling out of love with writing or anything, in fact it is quite the opposite! :D

Thank you for your support, every time I receive a notification of someone liking a chapter or leaving a comment, it makes me so happy! Let me know your thoughts on the ending and whether or not you would like a sequel someday...!

Lots of love,
Becky

Chapter 23

Epilogue

It's scary how fast the summer flew by. Before I knew it, there was only one week until Keiko had to leave for Oxford. Then one day. It was hard to believe we were going to be apart for so long, but we had finally both come to terms with the idea. We could still call or Facetime. We could even write each other letters, the good old-fashioned way. And she would be back home for Christmas in only a few short months.

It would be OK. Life was different now, but not in a bad way. Our friendship had evolved. I had evolved. I no longer felt she was leaving me behind. We both had our own paths to follow, but we would always be connected, no matter where we were.

"I'm gonna miss you Aquaman," she sighed, flicking freezing cold water in my face. "So much."

I splashed her back, laughing. "You too, girl genius."
