amatsuki, who was feeding his pets, flinched at the noise of hushed whispers that were coming from his doorstep. utterly confused, he took a peek from the hallway and suddenly heard the light strumming of the guitar just outside of the door, which confused him even more. then came two knocks, which honestly gave amatsuki some sort of mini heart attack.

quite flustered and nervous since he didn't really expect a situation like this before, he quickly stood up from his crouching position and made a brisk walk towards his front door, opening it wide and was surprised to see a group of children, and kashitarou behind them, yelling at him in a greeting. "trick or treat!"

the kids clapped and giggled as kashitarou laughed along with them, strumming his guitar excitedly as he peered at amatsuki behind his mask. there was a grin that tugged at his lips as he noticed the look of pure amusement that formed on the other's face as the latter laughed.

amatsuki shook his head as he broke into a wide smile. "happy halloween." he greeted the children, who all laughed cheerfully as they lunged out their bags at him, silently asking for candy.

he politely excused himself, then grabbed a bowl filled with candy that he had prepared just in case this happened from the living room, and came back, bursting into a fit of giggles when he noticed the excited chatter that arose as the kids lined up in an orderly fashion.

kashitarou was watching behind them in amusement, giving high fives to the kids who had walked over to him as they joyfully chattered about how amatsuki was being really nice to them. he glanced at the other, who was laughing at what seemed to be a joke one kid made, and kashitarou couldn't help but stare lovingly at amatsuki as the former's grin died down into a small and fond smile.

gradually, the line shortened and it had finally reached kashitarou as the kids were walking away, chatting up a storm about which house they were going to next. "happy halloween, amatsuki-kun!" he chirped then strummed a chord, pulling up his mask and revealed his face. he chuckled as he heard the sigh that escaped amatsuki's lips.

"that was a bit of a scare. you could've texted me beforehand and told me that this was going to happen." amatsuki pouted and lightly hit kashitarou's arm, earning a playful whine in response. "and kashitarou-san is already too old for this, you old man!" he added jokingly, laughing at the frown that formed on the other's face.

"nobody's too old when they're being asked to be accompanied for trick or treating, amatsuki-kun!" kashitarou pouted at the other before breaking into a grin once more. "anyway, they spotted me by the park and asked me if i could join them and play some songs."

amatsuki hummed, nodding as he giggled. "well then, shouldn't you get going? it seems like they're waiting for you." he gestured a hand towards the kids that stopped in their tracks as they stared at the two curiously. seeing as they were spotted, they quickly turned away from the two adults to mind their own business.

"hm~ well, what about my treat?" a mischievous glint reflected upon kashitarou's eyes, same grin on his lips as amatsuki laughed, turning towards the now empty candy bowl.

"i don't have any candies left, kashi-" amatsuki turned around and was forced to have his sentence cut off since kashitarou had pressed a light and loving kiss on the other's lips, which was not at all chaste. pulling apart, the latter gave the former an affectionate smile.

"see you later, amatsuki-kun." kashitarou held onto the other's hand and carressed it softly, staying just right there for a bit. he then chuckled breathily, letting go of amatsuki's hand and walked away and went towards the kids while waving goodbye to his lover with that same loving smile still on his face.

the children noticed the adult's presence and quickly crowded around kashitarou, chatting with him excitedly about which house they should go to next and how many candies they had acquired.

amatsuki sighed, cheeks flushed in a shade of red. he was evidently flustered as he watched them walk away. "that idiot..." he uttered fondly as he retreated back into his home after closing the door, amused at the taste of candy that lingered on his lips.
