My Ruki from all those years ago, no not years; centuries. There he was standing at the end of the room, not looking a day older than the last time I saw him. A lot of emotions and thoughts flooded through my mind. Happiness, anger, sadness, I didn't know which one to react on.
I just stood there for a moment letting all this sink in, who knew the universe was so small that we would see each other again. He turned around to face us from looking out the window, a small smile appeared on his face as he spoke.
"Thank you Kai. You may leave now." He said as he slowly made his way towards me, Kai nodded after taking one last glance at me and then left us alone.
"Young Uruha. You are back at my side after all this time. " Ruki spoke as he approached me.
"You were the one that left me alone, without a word or a goodbye." I replied adverting my eyes from him. He tilted my chin up so I would look at him.
"I did it to keep you safe. There were hunters about. People who hunt down any supernatural being. I laid down a trail that would lead them far away from you. Now you are back again , even at time's end you find your way to me, just like I said you would ."
I wanted to believe him, I really did but trust was broken. Maybe he would let me go or something. My mind was too muddled up with thoughts to think straight. Instead of dwelling on those thoughts I stuck to a different line of interest. Maybe if I heard him say it then I would believe the truth myself.
"Time's end?" I questioned him and he just nodded.
"Yes, your time is coming to an end. But me and my friends here can change that. We have been looking up ways to stop you from slipping out of my sight once again." He replied.
"How so? There might not be a way, when time-traveler such as myself comes to the end of its life. We just fade away, such as every other species." Yes, believing was going to be a little harder than I thought but everything else was adding up to him being right.
"I will turn you, make you become one of us. Just like I did with all the others. You can join us and free across these lands." He explains.
"That won't work. I am not human, that would only work on humans like that. You trying to do so would just hurt both of us in the end." I said trying to get my point across to him.
"That's where you are wrong my dear Uruha. None of my friends were human before they turned and now look at them. They all have a piece of bloodline of mine running through them. A connection perhaps." He said countering my point.
Maybe he was right, the scanner had said there was more than one species on this planet. Even if so I didn't know how well this whole plan they had would work. I sighed running through things through my mind again. There was a lot of confusion but amongst it all one thing was clear; he was still my Ruki, he was still trying to protect me and keep me alive; just like he did all that time ago.
"I don't know Ruki, but I guess the best we can do is try." I said and he nodded.
"Yes we will try but for now you must rest some more and gather up your strength. I will get Kai to show you to your new room. Don't worry I got your belongs put there safely. And I shall see you later on today." He said and now it was my time to nod.
He called Kai back who appeared in the doorway a few moments later. He listened to Ruki's instructions to take me to my room and then began to lead the way there. We walked in silence without a word, I was still sorting things out in my mind. It also seemed like he had a lot of think about as well.
There was still so many secrets that were hidden in these walls of this cave system, so many questions and no answers. Yet it seemed like Ruki was determined to make a part of this secretive world and save me from my own death in the process. Maybe only then once I was a part of it all would I learn the questions I had stuck in my head.
We had made it to the room now as Kai opened the two large wooden doors and gestured for me to go inside. I thanked him and he replied back saying if I just needed something, all I had to do was ask. I said I would and after that he left me alone to my own thoughts. I walked around the vastly big room; there was a large double bed that was facing a big open window, some bookcases and a nightstand on either side of the bed. On the other side of the room there was desk with some pen and paper on it and right on top of the paper was my gadgets. I walked over to them, examining them before putting them back on the desk. Like I said there was so many secrets to be uncovered and my time was running out. I went and laid down on the bed that was provided. After all Ruki had said I needed to rest and I had began to feel tired after so little sleep within these few days since I had entered this cave.
Maybe when I wake up I would feel better or at least well rested. For now I was safe and back at Ruki's side once again. Even if this was my end, at least it would a happy ending.
