The table beneath me is cold but my body feels like its on my fire. I have faith in Ruki that he can do this. We talked a lot and yet amongst all the talking he hasn't told me what the others are yet. That's something I will have to find out myself at some point in my future; if this succeeds that is.
"Master he doesn't have much time left." One of the others informs Ruki as he paces around the table that I am laying on.
"I know Reita, I know." Ruki mutters mostly to myself even though his words are to the other being in the room. Its only the two of them in here, in this room. Kai is waiting outside the room and I have no idea where the other one is.
"Okay, it's time." Ruki finally says as he walks up to the table.
"You trust me?" He asks me as he kneels a little so he is at the same height as the table. I nod, yes I trust him. I trusted him since day one.
"Of course." I reply looking up at him. A small smile appears and then disappears on his face from hearing my words.
"And so it begins." He says muttering to himself once again as he takes my wrist into his hands. He takes it up to his lips and I can see his fangs just about poking out ever so slightly. Then I feel a sharp prick and after that is complete darkness. Flashes of light, swirling colors that come and go from my vision.
I hear nothing but it feels like the heat from my body had gone, what I assume is a few minutes passing later. I can finally start to hear again although my sight is still a blur of confusion.
"Reita how is he doing?" Ruki's voice fades in and out of my ears.
"His...time...changing....slowly." The other voice who I assume is Reita at this point. Is it working , is it not working ; I am still not sure. My hearing fades again back into silence. Then I feel the heat take over my body, this heat is soothing but so different than what I felt before. In between it all the loss of sight and hearing , it's like I can feel the change, my body adjusting to this new form of life. Or maybe that is what I am hoping is happening and have somehow managed to convince my mind that is what is going on within me.
Finally after a long pause I get my hearing back again and my vision is still fading in and out as try to see around my surroundings; although at the moment all I can see are silhouettes and shapes.
"A few more minutes and he will be one of us." Reita tells Ruki.
"Why is it taking so long?" I hear Ruki answer back with a sigh.
"You were the one that said it takes a different amount of time for everyone." Reita says quietly.
"I know." Ruki replies just as my vision begins to stabilize.
A few more minutes pass just like Reita said and I suddenly feel myself gasp for air as what I guess is my transformation being complete.
Ruki rushes to my side with a smile on his face, probably because he now knows that his idea to turn me worked.
"Welcome back to us Uruha dear. How are you feeling?" He asks now kneeling beside the table just like he did before the transformation.
"I'm okay, just getting use to everything I guess." I reply. He smiles and nods at my reply.
"Yeah, that's going to take a bit of time." He says just as I hear Reita ask Kai to bring for 'a big tree bark'. Then I can hear Kai rushing off to do exactly that, I can hear things for miles around, I can see more clearer than I could than when I was a time-traveller. This is all so new and surprising.
Not more than a minute passes when Kai knocks and then enters the room carrying quite a big piece of bark that is dripping blood from it. He smiles at me and I smile back.
"The biggest I could find." He says passing the item to Ruki who shakes his head.
"Not for me. For him." Ruki says glancing at me as he talks to Kai. Acting on Ruki's words Kai passes me the tree bark as I sit up taking it into my hands.
I notice my body movements are a little more fluid and fast but somewhat still human like.
"Gently place your lips against the bark, your fangs should automatically come out and then you should be able to suck up and swallow the liquid." Ruki instructs me and I do exactly as he says.
Normally this would feel weird or wrong to do such a thing, but this me, a new me; the vampire me, it seems perfectly normal. I suck up most of the liquid from the bark before placing it aside. I smile as he feel my fangs retract back into my gums.
"Welcome to clan. And to a whole new life." Ruki says with a smile, I can also see Kai smiling as well. Even Reita is smiling a bit.
"Thanks." I simply answer not sure on what else I can say.
"You're welcome. And now you are one of us there is a lot of information I should fill you in on. A lot about the vampire life here and other matters, that is if everyone else would give us a moments privacy." He says and both Kai and Reita nod before leaving us alone.
Now finally I will get the answers I came for, the questions that led me to him. The questions that saved my life, but little did I know this was just the beginning.
