(It's been four years, so the 2004 movie is coming into play here.)
It's just a normal day. Well as normal as it will ever be for the Thunderbirds. Alan's been away at boarding school, but he's coming home tonight. He's been doing really well so he deserves a break. John has been busy, running TB5 is hard. Thankfully he gets the time to come down and take a break to relax with me. John also comes with me to all of Alan's parent teacher interviews and other events. The only time Jeff is called by the school is for when Ali gets into trouble. Today, it's been quiet, so I've been sitting on a sun lounger, reading a new book John recommended, as Gordon swims in the pool. Unfortunately, as I'm reading, the klaxon sounds from the hidden speakers. I throw Gordon a towel as we run to Jeff's office. We get into our chutes and head out, Scott and Gordon in TB1, Virgil, Jeff and I in TB2. This time we were called out to Russia, an oil rig had caught on fire.
"TB2 from TB1, I have visual south coast, they're trapped on an inspection platform." Scott announces over the comm.
"F.A.B., we'll take it from here." Jeff replies. I can see the men are attempting to climb higher up and get off the platform, but the explosions continue. A tower becomes engulfed in flames. Jeff's keen eyes spotted the tower quickly. "Scott, Gordon get out of there, that tower's coming down." Jeff urges
"Got it." Gordon declares, pulling TB1 back as the tower falls down and hovers over the water.
"TB1 any damage?" I inquire.
"Negative Nix." Scott replies.
"Approach angle's no good, we're going to have to swing around." Jeff declares. I can vaguely hear Scott warn Jeff "Watch for the wind shear, TB2"
Jeff sasses back with "Scotty, I was watching the wind shear when you were still wearing diapers." Gordon then goes "Ohhh! Scotty you just got burnt!" Suddenly, another explosion occurs, rocking TB2. "Woah, hold on!" Virgil exclaims.
"Who needs the diapers now, dad?" Gordon sasses. Jeff ignores them, turning to face me. "Drop the rescue platform, Phoenix." He commands.
"Aye sir." I salute, turning to the controls. I can hear Virgil announce "Open them up, here we go. Rescue platform's on its way."
"Virgil, how's it going?" I ask
"It's looking good Nix!" He reports, "Ok, I've got a visual, hold it there." He quickly locks on the targets, "Targets locked. Firing rescue lines." He announces as six lines are fired, hitting each man. "Come guys, hook 'em up." Virgil announces.
When they were ready, Virgil gives us the go ahead. "Let's haul them out of there." Jeff declares. "Ok, let's bring 'em home." Suddenly, an explosion rocks the ship, lowering the rescue platform slightly. "Whoa, sorry boys, hold on tight, here we go!" I announce over the speaker, pressing the button to make the platform rise."How you doing, Son?" Jeff inquirers.
"Never better!" Virgil replies. Jeff immediately turns to the microphone when the men are out of danger. "TB1, commence knockdown procedure" he commands.
"F.A.B. TB2." Scott replies. A section opens on the underside of Thunderbird One. "Fire." Gordon announces. A rocket is fired, hitting the oil rig and the fire is extinguished. I hear Vigil go all cowboy on us with a "Yee-ha!"
"Bulls eye! Outstanding shot! Alright boys and lady, let's take these babies home." Jeff announces, flying towards the nearest hospital. I doze off slightly, but once we are enroute home, Virgil wakes me up.
When we were in sight of Tracy Island, Scott announces "Radar indicates that we've got company, it's FAB1." As we fly alongside the pink car, I spot Alan, who starts waving vigorously. I wave back, as Jeff salutes him. Being the show offs they are, Scott and Gordon weave TB1 under TB2, then over, spinning TB1 as they do so. "Show offs." I mutter.
