Sleeping was becoming an option for me. It's our "third period," and I'm really hoping that a miracle would happen soon. Probably right now, please. My death would be from boredom, and we all know who's fault. I was literally about to die, until the lunch saved us all. I pulled my hood on and held on to a box of Oreos. Then I waited for the teacher to "dismiss" us. She gave us a little lecture about 'How to be quiet' and 'Why it's important to listen.' Eating Oreos was the only thing I was doing, while pretending I cared by just staring at her.
The teacher went on and on and on and on I bet lunch out be over soon. Why do teachers hate kids? Why are they even teachers if they hate kids? The world may never know. It took so long for her to let us go, but by the time she did, my box of Oreos was almost out. So much for saving them.
We finally were allowed to go to lunch. I wanted to walk, but since I've been trapped in, I ran like the world was ending. Outside was warm, unlike the classroom. Once I thought I was far enough, I screamed, "FREEDOOOOOOM!" Students stared at me and laughed. I agree, I look stupid. But two hours in a room with no air conditioning equals intimate death. Thank God I even made it out alive.
I searched for my friends while eating my Oreos. Again. They were no where to be found, so I headed over to the swing sets. It was pretty much empty over there, exactly what I've hoped for. I sat on the cold seat and swung around a bit. Waiting isn't something I'm good at. Boredom was one of the first things to hit me, and I ended up kicking sand and hugging my now empty Oreo box.
A big bunch of people were coming my way, and I looked over and smiled. I let out a "hi," but no one actually responded. The smile I had started to fade once I saw my friends busy doing something else.
"Mavis is the mom!" someone shouted.
"Sean wants to be the uncle!"
"Randy's the dad!"
"Vanessa and Heaven are sisters."
"WAIT. Let me be the daughter, let me be the daughter!"
I finally get the big picture. We were playing family. Of course I love playing it, but someone will eventually quit then everyone will follow. I might as well join in.
"Can I be the daughter or something?" I asked. Nobody could really hear me.
"Yeah, okay."
So far in this "family" of ours, I have a mom, dad, uncle, three sisters. There's plenty more people to join, but there's so many that it's kind of getting annoying. No offense.
"It's getting a little crowded. I'm going over there okay?" I pointed towards the monkey bars on the other side. It may sound like I'm asking for permission, but they might think I'm ditching them.
"Sure," Mavis responded.
Only one reason why I asked Mavis: she's the leader of everything. She's beautiful, skinny, beautiful, and perfect. And beautiful. She's also really nice to everyone. Why not make her the mom?
First I walked over to the trash to throw away the Oreo box, and headed over to the monkey bars. I sat down on the ladder side and threw rocks around. I'm sure that Mavis followed me and now everyone was there. Everyone was talking, and I pretended to do so too. I didn't want to look like something was wrong and seem like a drama queen. I went back and forth between the swings and the monkey bars with a group of people behind. They got tired of this routine and stayed at the swings. The monkey bars was the place where I ended up staying. Alone. My "talking buddies" ended up being Sean and Randy.
Randy went first. "Why are you alone?"
I want to repsond, but I can't.
