A few months ago...

"Conner?" I heard a voice outside my cabin. I slowly got up out of my chair and walked over to the door. I cracked it open a little. It was Sam. I sighed and opened the door. "Good morning Sam" I said rubbing my eyes. "What brings you to my lovely cabin?" I asked almost sarcastically. Her eyes were lit with excitement. I knew this look all go well. She found something. "I wanna show you something cool. Grab your gun and sword and let's go" she said impatiently, She couldn't sit still for five seconds. "Alright, Alright give me a minute to get everything" I walked away from the door, still tired as shit though for I barely slept. Guard duty at our camp was always an experience to say the least.

I got my things and prepared for our small journey. She never told me to get my things unless we were going away from the base.

"Alright" I said "after you" gesturing towards my door. A smile came across her face and she hurried out the door. I sighed. "Out of everyone on the camp. The only friend I make is a crackhead" I shake my head and follow after her. Closing my door behind me.

We walked side by side through the camp. "So what is it exactly you're showing me?" I asked. She smiled "you'll see" she kept walking.

We continued walking in silence, but she seemed excited. Jumpy almost. I don't know what it was but it sure was something.

As we reached the front gate. The guards nodded and pulled the wooden gate open. We nodded as we walked passed them.

A couple hours later.....

We've been walking for hours and I still have no idea where she's taking me. "Are we almost there Sam? I'm getting really tired of walking" I said tiredly. "Oh don't be such a baby. Just a little bit further, I promise" she said. "If I'm not as excited as you when I see whatever you're showing me, I'll feed you to the screechers" I said frustrated. She stopped in suddenly and turned around. "I think we're far enough from the camp" she said. "For?" I asked confused. I looked around and saw only trees. "Why did you drag me out here" as soon as I asked her this she bent down on her knees and began searching the ground. I looked at her confused. "What are you doing?" I asked.

"You'll see" there was a click and she lifted up a hidden panel in the ground. "Come on" she jumped in a began climbing down the ladder. I rolled my eyes but curiosity was growing in me now and I followed after her.
